@sertman
age doesn't matter.
Last time i checked, it does. I've had 3 (or 4) more years of maturing, observation, and studying than you do, and so far, you haven't even proven that you've even taken an economics class or have any idea what you are talking about.

Using age as an arguement is one of the most stupid debating tactics ever.

Until I see him defend himself by actually explaining his argument instead of saying "uh i've studied up on it" then i'll treat this argument as degenerate

all you have been doing is talking about me. Start talking about your counter on my arguement.

I HAVE been explaining my argument. Have you even been reading what I've said?

Start taking your own advice. What started this whole thing? You calling me racist because i don't like the illegal lowlifes.

Whats your argument? All you've said is you've studied up on it

Sertman. This is a discussion about immigration. Not age. Not maturity. MC has implied that he is of Hispanic descent, and is probably closer to the issue than you think you are.

MC. You have not done much to help your own case. You jumped in here on the defensive and have continued to provoke Sert. If you want to have an intelligent conversation, Grandia and I have volunteered our services.

Now calm down.

Yeah..okay. No need to continue on something that might not even be resolved anyways.

I expressed my views on illegal immigration, and he has yet to explain his counter argument.

Talisman just said exactly what would happen.

Does anyone want to jumpstart this thread? Because I think everything that has been needed to be said has been done so.

Today would be a good day to go shopping at Wal-mart.

In all honesty, I haven't noticed any difference albeit I am in college and I've spent a majority of my time in Palm Desert, which is predominately white. Although I have seen some people of latino descent. Was La Quinta High really affected as much as you make it out to be?

I called up my girlfriend after she got out of school and asked her about it (I didn't go to school). She said that practically all of her classes were pretty much empty. Although that whole thing is just basically about location. Maybe at Granite junior high (predominantly white; a neighboring school) there wasn't so much an effect.

Hey sertman...uh, I mean pmssert. What's up?

Lol. What's that? Two people banned now in this thread? I'm sure there'd be many more illegal Asian immigrants streaming into America if they didn't have the Pacific Ocean between them. I don't care how many immigrants come, as long as they're legal.

Legal. That's all. I get my haircuts at this Cambodian barbershop. The lady plans to go back after she's saved up enough money and buy a nice house. I say props. Go for it. Why not?

It would be interesting what history books say about this 30 years from now.

I went to the same high school as Grandiagod and I do live in a community where mexicans are in the majority. I just havent noticed any difference yet.

while I'd hesitate to call it a media "stunt" there's no way the group who organized this actually thought that this would have a measurable impact on the economy. The idea was to raise awareness, and it certainly did that. Whether there will be a backlash or not is yet to be seen.

I didn't mean that it would have an immediate effect on the economy, I meant in the long run it would. Backlash? what kind of backlash are you talking about?
