Hey, why doesn't anyone say iwnd or kwnd or maybe even lwned. They are right next to the o, but you've never seen that before. Because pwned is an acronym for "power owned." Accept your fate newbies.

An Acronym would be "PO" for power owned. It would be pronounced "Poh". A Typical abbreviation, non acromyn would be "PO", pronounced "Pee Oh" for the letters.
Of course, one could do other ABBREVIATIONS, but only one acromyn. You could combine the two into a nontypical acromyyn like powned I suppose...but I woudnt call that an acromyn jusy cause.

You thought I was a GUY?!

This is crazy.
Pawned is a chess term. The "a" could have gotten edited out to abbreviate. The "e" might have been edited at one time also, but it didn't catch on. Owned is a ... whatever term. I myself hit the "p" instead of the "o" all the time. Some might have seen someone make a typo and just thought it meant something and used it. Things like this get around these days. PWNED would be pronounced pwan-d or pawn-d. The "d" almost acts as a second sylable. |

Pawned is not a chess term, you lose.
"I pawned so and so" mean that you sold, to a pawn shop, for little money, so and so.

Anyone heard of this new 1337 speak?
Its called english. and it pawns. Also, why do some people assume Counter-Strike is the beginning of nearly every new word out there. (counter-strike invented counter-strike... huh?) There are these things called keyboards, yes? People accidently type things on them, p and o o and p Its quite hard to hit the right one at high speed. Thus 'pwned' Not "power owned" not "pre owned" not "pawned owned" and not "pleaselockthisthread owned" Catching the drift?
