It's been outcried just about ever since P4U v2 came out. The admins have not done anything to remove the background yet, so I highly doubt it'll happen anytime soon. Or ever.

Besides, removing the background would involve removing the level data, including scores. Do you really want the people who did a legitimate AAA of the song slicing your throat because they had to do it again?

On the other hand, I understand where everyone's coming from. Blue notes, blue background, it's an eyesore and no matter how you adjust your brightness settings, it still half-blinds you when you play it. Defies all sensibilities, but hey, legacy stuff. Takes too much wiping to undo the shit now. Sorry, but no one wants to be the pariah for this debacle, especially not the admins.

There are two methods I think admins could go about solving this issue

1.) Why don't the admins just remove stupid songs like Revo Etude, Party4u V2, and any other song with all blue arrows and obnoxious backgrounds and place them under non-public songs? With a combination of visually impairing backgrounds, along with a boat load of people who have played these files (since theyre old), it ruins more people's ranks than it helps.

2.) If you decide to keep the song public, you could remove the background but while doing so, maybe a skill token could be implemented.. one in which you achieve after AAAing P4u,(and obtaining a certain score on Revo) with the backgrounds on... this way people who have already AAA'd the song can be compensated with a nifty gift, and people who haven't can also benefit from it.. this imo is the best idea. Maybe you could make it so that players have the option of playing with the background on or off that way even people who haven't already AAA'd it can also go for the token.

Synth doesn't want blue note songs to be removed/changed, and we want to reserve people's efforts(scores) on these files, so they were moved to Legacy genre instead (P4U v2 wasn't yet though). BG removal on these songs won't happen, probably.

We can move legacy files to the token level rank list, but discussions about this haven't been concluded yet. We're planning on moving blue note secret/purchased songs to legacy genre, too.

I'm not against BGs themselves at all, but better ones (in terms of appearance and readability) should be picked for sure.

The blue note songs never got removed from the token levelranks...they're not considered token songs, yea, but they're still in the token-ranks as if they are.
