The rest all have roots in a pretty traditional pairing, like cranberries and grapes are super typical with fancy cheese plates and so I can see them going fine with mac and cheese too. Expecially dried cranberries, damn that would be really good lol And ketchup + steak sauce is functionally very similar to the sweet/salty/umami of teriyaki sauce, but with more pepper (especially with mustard too) But this... I feel like people are ignoring this brilliance of this. This deserves like, the Nobel Prize for College Kid Food

Re: Weird things you do/habits with food.
put whatever foods that have nutrients you need into a bowl and mash it together using Cabana Bowl logic, add sauces until it's edible
eat out of tupperware if you're not using a bowl have a really powerful blender and get used to pureeing shit that no one has any business pureeing if you're super-duper lazy you can buy bulk boxes of those disposable forks/spoons that offices use. my gf hates these and refuses to let me do this, and I don't care enough to put my foot down about utensils also, this isn't a problem right now necessarily since I live extremely close to a 24-hour supermarket, but if my drive was longer than 5 minutes and/or I had to go during periods of high activity (4pm - 8pm) I'd probably order bulk foods to avoid having to deal with the waste of time that is going to the store and dealing with oblivious mouthbreathers in my way while I physically buy shit. ordering/buying several months of bulk foods in one go is so much more time-efficient. e.g. http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wi...wl_rlist_go_o? generally I try to spend as little time as possible on: 1. commutes or any other form of transportation 2. chores 3. people in my way 4. things I 'have' to do (paying bills, making trips to the bank) commuting is especially horrible during high-activity hours (7am - 9am / 4pm - 6pm) because it combines both (a) the act of going from some place to another place, which in itself is mindless and exists only because technology doesn't exist to get me there faster, and (b) slow oblivious idiots who are in my way the stereotype of someone who doesn't like being around other people is an introvert who prefers the company of himself. this is not me and I am not introverted at all; I love the company of thoughtful and reflective people. I just try to avoid most people (but not all people -- I'd say 80% of people) because most people are infuriating wastes of time and have only a trace amount (at best) of valuable things to say or do. so in summary, order bulk foods and mash shit together with sauces. And I also strongly believing in eating the best for last. Why eat the best stuff first, leaving you with less-than-desirable foods to finish last? Quote:

I find this amazingly restrictive...how in the world do you get anything to drink from, say, a restaurant? Would a glass of wine be a toss-up between a drink or a complete waste of money because said server may or may not fill it up to the exact specifications? If there's too much, would you attempt to pour some out (and where?) to make the liquid one inch from the rim? And if there's too little, does that all go down the drain? Nevermind asking why this would be bothersome...I'd rather know how you'd manage this when you're not the one pouring the drink yourself. Sorry if I sound super shocked and puzzled, but I am genuinely curious. |

Re: Weird things you do/habits with food.
when i eat chicken noodle soup, i like to take a piece of white bread, spread peanut butter on half, fold it over and then dip it into the soup and eat it.
i like spiced rum and unsweetened white grapefruit juice on ice. and i eat monte cristo sandwiches with sour cream and grape jelly. so goddamn delicious

Re: Weird things you do/habits with food.
At buffet lines, when getting soup, I always get a ladle-full, then add a second scoop. Oftentimes, the first ladle-full fills the cup, so the second scoop contains little more than a few drops. Literally a waste of energy and time.
When eating oreos, i break them in half so one chocolate wafer has the cream and the other has nothing attached. I then eat both wafers separately, without even removing the cream from one of the wafers. |

Re: Weird things you do/habits with food.
I hate having any of my foods touch (unless it's very specific things like corn and mashed potatoes because those taste great together) and I eat one thing at a time. Whatever I start on, I have to finish before I can move on. It's not even in any specific order, just whatever I touch first has to be finished first. I always chew on the same side of my mouth (the left).

Re: Weird things you do/habits with food.
I dunk Oreos until the cookie part is soft. I'll take one by one out with a fork or spoon, lick the now soggy cookie part, then eat the cream.
Kit Kat. I'll eat the surrounding chocolate then peel off one layer at a time and eat. If I get a cheeseburger with fries, I'll put the fries inside then eat. M&Ms. I'll go in order of how many and what color (e.g. 1 red then 2 brown then 3 green, etc.). Same thing with Skittles. If I pour five and have 3 singles and 2 yellow, I'll eat the singles first. Oh yea, I also Open up the cookies of the Oreo, and lick off the cream part before eating the cookie.
The same goes for peanut butter crackers!

Re: Weird things you do/habits with food.
One thing I didn't understand about how Oreos are "supposed" to be eaten is why people lick the cream first. I actually eat at least one side of the cookie first, before eating the other side along with the cream (because...save the best for last! ). I used to actually try and remove both cookies from the cream but then realized that was just too stupidly inefficient and the cream would likely break off into a formless pile.
