Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
It's more like the other way around. Everyone in MLG fails.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I bet you cant beat one player who goes to national mlg with ANY rules you pick. You pretty much answered my questionComment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I bet I don't care, since tournaments for video games are retarded.
I beat the game and that's all that I care about. The game had a 100% accomplishment goal and I achieved it. Then I put it on the rack with all my other Gamecube games and bought another game.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
When you get payed 1000s of dollars for being good at a game then you have the right to comment an MLG pros skill. Till then just reply with "no Im a noobie"
why make comments on something you don't have any clue about?Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
How about no rules? Anything goes, that means wavedashing and items. My friend recently learned how to wavedash and games with both make an interesting match.
EDIT: Unfortunately, your definition of "noobie" is different from mine. I define noob as a person who knows nothing about the game and a pro as someone who does. You or anyone in the MLG may be pro, but I could care less of what you think of me because I'm not, I'm not that conceited.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Um you have NO CLUE what you are talking about either. Here are MLG MELEE RULES. 4 lives, 7 or 8 minutes I forget and no items. Those are the rules. Wavedashing is used by EVERY PRO. I use wave dashing, anyone decent uses wave dashing and L canceling. The reason for NO ITEMS is because items bring luck into the game. MLG is about skill, not luck.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Well, you just said I could choose the rules I wanted and I did. I don't hold a hatred towards wavedashing because to use it intentionally does require a bit of skill and I respect that. Although using items requires almost no skills, dodging items require a bit of skill and if you don't have the skills to do even that, you are not a good player. Dodging items does not rely on luck. Unlike most players, I can't wavedash and as such, I don't rely on it.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
A heart falls right next to you. Whats that? Maybe its _ _ _ _. Also I said(not to you) that the person trying to act smart could pick any rules and they would get raped by any national mlg player. You obviously dont know super smash brothers man. Give it up...Well, you just said I could choose the rules I wanted and I did. Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Oh man, you're just the stereotypical tourneybum. Through and through.

"You're bad at a game because you've never played against a REAL player! Go play (insert random person from halfway across the country whom you've never met before here) then come back to me NOOB LOL!!!1"
We've discussed this before and put it to rest. I specifically don't go to tournaments because:
1) Tournaments for video games are incredibly lame. It's a contest of who has the best hand-eye coordination and who's played the game the longest. It's not a real competition and the fact that companies pay money to have kids compete is ludicrous. Are there contests for who has the highest levels in MMOs? No, because the person with the highest level is usually just the person who invested the most time in the game. Does that make him/her better than anyone else? No. It just means that he/she played more than anyone else.
2) You have those retarded rules and never back down from them. It's just insane. You won't even play with Mr. Saturns? Seriously? They don't explode. They don't bother you at all. In fact, leave them alone long enough and they'll just walk off the stage.
I like items because it gives me a chance at using feints. Ever heard of them? Strategic fighting and all? Pretty much the entire basis of playing Gears of War? Can't just run in and blast everything with your assault rifle. You need strategy.
I hate wavedashing because it's a physics exploit and because requiring you to exploit the game and essentially mash pointless button combinations is beyond retarded. More retarded than the concept of a video game tournament to begin with.
Look, what do you want me to do? Want me to waste gas money and a solid weekend that could be spent playing (gasp) *different games* to drive to a meaningless sausage-fest so I can show off to all the other nerds that I have mad skillz? That's really the extent of my capabilities here. I have a job and I am in college. I have enough of a lack of time that I barely get to play any video game, let alone an organized meet-up of nerds who can't get over playing the same game over and over again.
Therefore, the only way I can tell you my skill level in this game is to say "I have all 290 trophies." That's it. I guess I could say I've never lost a match against another person, but that is irrelevant because "LOL THEY AREN'T MLG CERTIFIED U NOOB!!".Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Dude you aren't good at the game no matter what rules you pick. Get over it. Go show your argument to people who know what they are talking about so they can laugh at you and you can go on with life. Also there are a lot of tournaments for MMORPGS. Problem is, you probably suck at those too. D2JSP.ORG. Find dueling tournaments there. GUILD WARS has tournaments and guild matches all the time. I dont play any other mmorpgs so I wouldnt know about the rest. Your just crying because your not good at any game and your trying so hard to make an excuse for it. YOU are the type of people competitive gamers call noobs. Also Im pretty sure FFR pays their "pros" money for winning tournaments as well. And no the player who puts in more time into the game does not make them the best. Ive played starcraft for 4 years. There are 1 year players who are better than me and Im damn good at starcraft. Your an idiot so just stop.Oh man, you're just the stereotypical tourneybum. Through and through.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I don't listen to stupidity...I never said there was anything wrong with playing for fun. You just seem to have a problem with people who play competitively, whether it be for money or for the goal of being the best.
edit: I didn't even read what you said before, but wow. Now that I did its obvious you don't know what you are talking about.
"Ever heard of them? Strategic fighting and all? Pretty much the entire basis of playing Gears of War? Can't just run in and blast everything with your assault rifle"
I'm assuming your talking about halo 3? First of all the assault rifle is a HORRIBLE gun. Second of all, play with anyone decent at halo and you will die if you "run in and blast everything" with your assault rifle rofl! Stick to final fantasy or whatever you play. This isnt your area of expertise..Last edited by l2awr; 10-15-2007, 12:44 AM.Comment
