Only the quality matters, and we don't need many files for the queue.

2 files/a person is a quite reasonable number IMO.
If you have some reputation, the number would be up to 4-5.

Well, seriously though. Song choice is important. For your first file, try to step something NOT already stepped. Secondly, get many people to test it. Your first few files at least will probably be utter crap. You may not think so at the time, but if you get good and look back you will agree.

I didnt say most of my files didnt suck :P I've stepped quite a few which were utter crap. I just like stepping v2's so I dont have to figure out time changes etc.

laziness is a bad trait in a simfile author.

also... i'm thinking july for the batch. we'll do an event for june.

and yes, 2 files per person. more if i like you enough to let you submit more than 2 files.

what i meant was that if I really wanted to step a file, but it already has one, I'll see what the author used for the BPM. I don't always do that.

behanjc is right. When I look at the files I made or still some of the files I make I think wow they suck. Now a days I work about 5-6 hours on each file and I always keep finding tiny mistakes. And I guess 2 is fine, just going to submit my best files then.

This is how you should let people submit more then 2 files.

If both their files are good, they can send more.

you have several options

1. don't step a lot of files
2. spend lots of time on one or two super cool files and make them super awesome
3. release for sm
4. step a lot, submit only the 1-2 best of them

I am stepping Yuuyu's Far East Allnight and if I ever get around finishing its gonna be one of the two submited files. (probably along with fether's Green Greens Happy)

and stargroup I'm going to go with 2 or 4. I made about 12 files and I know, if i am lucky that about 1/2 of them are going to be accepted so I don't make any new files anymore and just keep working on my 12 files.

and queue opens back in july now?
