fluorescent your kinda wasting time, points, lvling by doing this. You want to skip the accuracy part and max out distance and crit and choose either ds or ab then put the rest of your points in whatever you want. the way you are doing it makes all your skills low lvled and not as appliable to lvling. understand?

In my opinion, focus is rather useless. Max range for sure and max out critical, then I would go for maxing double shot because the damage for ds is much more stable then arrow blow (which doesn't mean it is stronger then arrow blow, most get this confused). However, you will have 9 extra points at the end of 1st job (8 for you since you put a point into focus). I strongly recomend putting these 9 points into arrow blow just because you really need the knock back (kb) later on. I would max arrow blow if you plan on going fa-less (final attack, 2nd job skill that fires an extra arrow after you use a skill. Sounds good but it is a huge waste of points because it doesn't work for 3rd job skills and it defeats the purpose of mobbing). Well I guess I should post a short build for all these upcoming archers O_O

This is just what I recomend but it really comes down to your play style. I like to control enemys so kb (knockback) that comes from arrow blow is very useful in making sure I don't get run over by monsters with high kb (especially for higher level monsters) KB is very very important to archers and ds has bad kb (strafe even worse >.<). Think about it this way...

1 shot 260% when maxed (arrow blow)
2 shots 130% each arrow when maxed (double shot)
4 shots 100% each arrow when maxed (strafe)

Overall damage may be similar, but the way the damage is given to the monster is different. Double shot, the damage is divided up into 2 parts while arrow blow is one supercharged arrow that does quite a bit of damage with one strike, thus easily kbing monsters. Strafe has the worst because damage is divided into 4 arrows. Sure it has higher chance of critical but it still has unreliable kb.

I'll post a 2nd job advance build for you guys later when you want/need me to =/ Again, my build is only based on my playing style. If you want to take on higher monsters earlier, I would get more accuracy (I see no point in this really but I made the mistake of putting my points into accuracy early on. This costed me later because I had to use 3 extra levels to get arrow blow to level it should have been). If you want more avoid (20 avoid is rather pointless in my opinion) and don't mind having another semi-flashy skill to stick on your crowded keyboard, be my guest and put your extra 9 points into focus. Don't worry if you messed up already because there really is no wrong way to do 1st job builds. As long as you have maxed eye, double shot, and critical, you can't go wrong =)

I am FAless and one of the "smarter" archers out there. I try to explain things and the majority of archers are retards and dont' get it or don't care (at least in scania). The guides on hiddenstreet aren't very good just because the people that wrote them were probably 4x or so. I already went through 2nd job so I know all the skills and the order you should get them in. I'll try to add in some training spots if I have time/if I remember them. I know most of the good spots for 2nd job, I just don't know if I can think of good places in vic for 1st job archers.

Just do pigs and stuff in early 20's then go to Ant Tunnel in early 30's and so on.. Like every other class does at first. 2nd job is normally your choice to find a good leveled monster to keep at it.

It actually is stronger, but only because critical adds instead of multiplies. I figure I ought to bring this up during all this archer talk.

When Critical says +100% damage, it means +100% damage, not x2. Meaning that arrow blow isn't 260% damage * 2 = 520% damage with critical. It is actually 360%. Double shot, however, is 130%+100% + 130%+100% with two criticals, or 460% damage. 460% > 360%, so doubleshot has a higher max damage. That's why Strafe is so much stronger. If all 4 arrows get critical, you can have 800% damage. This doesn't happen extremely often, though, because critical is only a 40% chance, but it does happen enough to make more arrows in one shot = better.

In other news, I'm at like, 90.5% right now, so I'ma play before I go to work. HERE I COME, LEVEL 10 MIST! =D

Ok. I am gonna start maxing critical shot. And yes, I have been using melee weapons. I've been at Heneys or w/e hunting grounds just killing Slimes and Orange Mushrooms. Everynow and then I'll get to kill the tree stump that spawns and I get those branches. Then I kill those pigs at hidden beach and get stiff feathers. Then I make 1k arrows with what I have. I need 3 stiff feathers atm because I have 30 tree branches. I plan to have a lot more by level 18 when I get that xbow thing.

Thank you guys soooo much. My other friends have no idea what they are doing and one already had to restart because he didn't know you needed dex for a thief -_-. He had like 35 into luck and like some amount into str and the other two were the way he rolled them. So he restarted to make a mage and he's following a guide. -_-

500+ lucidias killed, not so much as an elixer dropped. I got a ton of mana elixer drops but nothing else =/ I really need a dark falcon or ANYTHING because I really do need money. I didn't lose much on pots there though just because I have puppet and mana elixers were dropping like crazy =) I'm going to try to get to 75% ish so I can level on saturday during 2x exp.

Spearman is highest in demand for parties. They do good damage, and also are a must for Zakum because of their skill Hyperbody which adds HP.

In addition, they get super fast leveling with priests (ie priests all want to party with them, unlike crusaders or whiteknights who have a harder time finding a priest to party with).

Two things to say this post.

1. There is a phenomenal amount of lag for me on my laptop. I went out to the main computer in the house and I downloaded, installed, and ran MS. Then it was the highest settings still and NO LAG. I went to the Henesys Hunting Grounds where I train and still no. Wtf Laptop...I might just go buy an ethernet cord so I am getting full..axcess (I know its not spelled right -_-)to my internet connection.

2. When I quit MapleStory WEIRD things always happen. Yesterday a billion search things were open and when I closed them more popped up. WTF. And it has also ran searches for letters I have typed in the game and Windows Narrarator has popped up. And today, and by far the most perplexing, it tilted my screen 90 degrees to the right. WTF. It took me 10 minutes of my precious summer time to figure out how to turn it back. WHY IS IT DOING THIS?!?!?1!?Eleven.
