Hmm I guess so. Thanks for not raging against me, I just hope you get my argument that you're still the same person on both accounts and have alot more experience than a new player so the "changing style" is not totally valid. Now lets end this.

I just have to say even though he's an experienced player he played like crap on downscroll when he started haha.

I have accounts for split, Index .. Whatever. But i'm no good at any of them, so i don't play on them often. AJ was probably as bad as me when i tried downscroll, but he wanted to better himself as a player. Where one player stops and says "lol guis that was fun" and plays maybe 40 songs, He doesn't give up and continues trying to BETTER that playstyle.

Starting a new playstyle is similar to starting the game fresh, in my opinion. It takes time and dedication, you will not be amazing at it right from the start. Either will a new player, at any style they choose. The difference is AJ continued to improve, where others would fall off.

Experience doesn't have much to do with anything here. New players may not know certain aspects of the game or what not, but that information is available if seeked, or asked.

Experience doesn't have much to do with anything here. New players may not know certain aspects of the game or what not, but that information is available if seeked, or asked.

Was referring to patterns knowledge, speed, etc.. The only thing he loses when doing so is the reading ability. There's no need to argue more, thank you.

this is seriously upsetting me slightly lol. there was never anything clearly stated against having a second account for a second style; people do this ALL THE DAMN TIME in my experience and no one cares. completely obliterating the countless hours of effort put in by somebody who plays the game honestly and ardently (which, by the way, are things we should be FIGHTING for in a slowly weakening community) for such a minor goddamn thing as offsetting some people's ranks by one in a commonly accepted fashion is just plain stupid and a little offensive to me. this should never have even been considered imo.

oh god no, haha. My muscle memory does not convert AT ALL for downscroll. I know this because I sat there playing Frictional Nevada on downscroll for nearly two hours and picked up blocks on the two 32nd bursts in the intro and the entry into the jumptrill wall at like 700, then I played it on upscroll and Alt+F4'd after to make sure the score didn't go through, and my blocks did not exist at all on upscroll.

My muscle memory does not convert whatsoever -- otherwise, files that I play a lot, or files that I have created, would be easy AAAs for me. Take Faint Breath as a huge example. I sightread AAA'd Faint Breath on upscroll because it's my own chart and it was created/tested under that particular style. However, my downscroll score is over 20g, despite having the muscle memory from internal testing and knowing the song because of how I charted it. Muscle memory didn't convert for me at all, haha.

EDIT: thank you, Puppet. glad to see someone understands that i'm not doing it with malicious intent - my goal isn't to knock people off the leaderboards, it's to use the stats as a measure of progress.

I get the feeling that this whole topic started simply out of spite and not for the purpose of any real productivity. I never and still don't think making alts for a different playing style is a crime.

And with that being said, I should ask Icy if any of his alts had specifications to playing style before mass wiping the aformentioned list. It wouldn't be fair to wipe the accounts that would legitimately be used for other playing styles. The excess alts would have the scores wiped however.

Lol, I should Reeeally have PM'd you about it I think. Btw, no one ever said you had bad intentions, I've always been speaking generally, using you as an example. I don't get why you must point it out since I don't think anybody thought "AJ wants to mess up with the scoreboards". My bad if I didn't mention muscle memory, even though it is pretty much related with how well you can read that pattern.

Alright took care of the list on the OP for starters other than someone I want to look into a bit further. The Icy accounts I'm going to have to I guess have a chat with him because there are a lot of players that have an alt account that is not being wiped so I think it's only fair to allow him to keep one of his alts at least, but yeah that's way too many to have all over the scoreboards.

Edit: There's a lot of people on the accounts to look into section too. I'll see what we can do about figuring those out.

levelstats_raw still shows blacklisted scores, nothing special, we can move on now.

And I'd just like to point out that downscroll is only a different way of reading, the physical aspects of hitting notes are completely unchanged.

Did a simple google search for something very obvious and got results on how it happened quite quick. All relevant info sent to Velo, if its not enough for him to fix it rankings are fked.
