It's rare for me to play I/L, so.

Fire/that other skill that no one uses. Poison? What the hell was Wizet on when they made this crap for the 2nd job

Pros:
*They hit hard, and I'd say they're pretty fun until level 40
*They get to train in El Nath, which is really cool looking and stuff
*They get to max teleport, MP eater, and teleport without the need of other skills to train
*They're a new type of class, one with power, power stronger than all of the other classes for a while
*No other class is much like them. Sins are arguably like bowmen, and bandits are close to faster warriors. I mean NO class is the same, but this class is what I consider the most individual

Cons:
*They're insanely boring
*They only have one attack skill
*They're insanely boring
*They level slowly.
*They're insanely boring

That other class that can't do crap except heal until level 70, in which they get a half decent mob attack, but they still heal until level 120 with no hopes of being any good without someone else to rely on
Pros:
*They level fast alone until level 70, and that's ALWAYS a huge advantage
*(I'd say) they're by far the funnest class of mages
*They can mob hit and heal at the same time, so you won't use as many potions as on other mages

Cons:
*All they can do is heal and help party members
*Parties can get boring, even more than soloing, in my opinion
*They don't do anything but heal for a long, long time

There're some other things, but those are what I'd base it on. I'd be a cleric from now on and never a F/P again, but it's really all your choice. I just hate levelling so damn slowly.

Whatever. My pure int in the making is in ludi. I started what will be a beginner only to fund his way back to victoria. The pure int is 7. The beginner is like 5 or something.

It happened to EB and I Afro. I had to buy zombie teeth to level my guy up to 10 so he could get back to vic. It's how EB and I explored the korean folk town, aquaroad, and the rest of ludi.

He has blue eyes. HUEG mistake. I'll either remake him or stick to the pure beginner.

Or I'll level the pure beginner to 10 and decide to make him a warrior. You know... whatever.

Really though, why would:

#1: Olaf send newbs to florina? I'm surprised I could even afford the boat back from florina.

#2: Why in the hell would it put you back in ludi? That's just flat out retarded.

Honestly, I'm thinking about sending an email to the Japanese peoples and asking them what's up.

By the way, my beginner is "AfrobeanNewb." The pure int which I will probably delete is "AfrobeanFFR."

Some people used to play jMS just to explore. I think that's the easiest way to do it. Prevents them from interfering much if their only purpose is fulfilled in seconds.

Tokzic, you say "a few extra features" but you have NO IDEA. Aquaroad alone (haven't even seen the dungeon) is HUGE. There are many areas of jMS I will never see gMS, and I'd like to get to a high enough level to enjoy them.

Chris, a no-MG build would require some amount of HP added to be worthwhile. What would you get instead? MA would be useless for a cleric because it doesn't stack with Bless. No-MG is just dumb as an experiment. Do something more cool, like a pure-dex warrior or something!

To whoever asked about differences between magicians, basically:

-Clerics are for partying. If you like HAVING to party after level 70, go ahead. They level extremely fast and extremely easily (but in return are extremely boring after a while), which makes them great for funding other characters.
-Ice/Lightning are good for controlling monsters. In 2nd job, they do far less damage per monster compared to F/P, but they can kill 6 monsters at once and freeze most monsters, making it easy to control monsters. In 3rd job, their mob skill isn't as good as F/P's, but they can freeze 6 monsters at a time with it. Their thunderspear is very slow, which makes it only good against the few lightning-weak monsters in the game. It is the most damaging of any mage spells, though.
-Fire/Poison is about DAMAGE. Fire Arrow is VERY strong (especially compared to other mage's attacks), and poison can kill anything in the game in 2 hits, but isn't entirely practical. In 3rd job, Explosion is the strong mob skill in the game. Mine isn't maxed yet (it's level 22 if I remember right) and I can do around 4300 dmg to 6 monsters at once. It's slow, but worth it. Poison mist also allows for EXTREMELY fast leveling. Fire mages cost a lot in 3rd job, compared to clerics, which still cost very little. I'm not sure about I/L mage cost in 3rd job, but lorangs are a drain on funds in 2nd job.


PS: I cannot stress this enough: I AM NOT LEAVING GMS. I just wanna get high enough in jMS that I can explore. Plus, I've never done things like Ludi PQs, and since the PQ areas are ALWAYS EMPTY in jMS, we could do them hassle-free if we got at least 6 of us to level 40 or so, which should be easy as hell if we do Kerning PQs OVER AND OVER (they are always empty, too). =)

I AM NOT QUITTING MY RANGER IN GMS. I am doing jms just because I am sick of how slow leveling is for my ranger and also because JMS IS ACTUALLY FUN, especially when eb and I went exploring the korean town and dying who knows how many times trying to get passed tigers when we were level 8 =) Aquaworld is AMAZING; the controls are a bit whacky at first and it feels kinda awkward, but once you get used to hovering, it is very very fun and well worth it. We did go partway into the level 90 dungeon but we ended up dying and having a couple of pros laugh at us. I know you will say "just start a new character in gms" but whats the point? Its the EXACT same thing and plus you level slower then in jms. Jms is just for fun until I can actually get back into my ranger and level him =/

If a cleric EVER uses MG during real training, he's doing something wrong.

And actually, MA does go over bless. Also, since MA sucks anyway, I might do something like max bolt. Max bolt would be nice to KB things that claw cannot (assume I decide not to max holy arrow of course).

EDIT: btw started what will be this MGless cleric. AfrobeanHoly. He'll be entirely background until he's at least 30 though. I'm more worried about my priest and fizard than anything else right now.

That's the best purpose for Magic Guard. I have about a dozen or so more if you need to hear them to stop being so weird about your build.

I'm not sure what this is saying either, but I should point out that "meru" is the Japanese term for Mesos, so it has something to do with mesos, not mail.

I might join you guys in jMS. I still have my account from back when Squeek and I played a bit. I already have a little lv. 15 mage, but I really want that resting chair... ;_;

I highly advise against being a sin, because it requires some money to get up and running faster. That's part of why I'm going warrior, just because it's easier, in my opinion, to get started. Bowmen don't require too much, just lots of arrows after a point. I'm sure everybody else who plays would gladly save arrows for you and help you out. We've found several weapons you could use a bowman instead of bows, too, so you oughta be fine for a while. Also, once I get Slash Blast (next level) I could party you guys in slime tree and mass-rape slimes to help you guys catch up. I'd like for us all to be around the same level, especially once we're at a level that we can PQ.

Oh, that's another good reason to be an archer. ACCURACY! You'll be the first of us that's able to kill neckis, which is always nice. =)

EDIT: Jamuko, make a new one called JamukoFFR or something and get the chair. Like I said, Slash Blast = mass rape to monsters, so you can leave Maple Island and we'll help you hit level 8 (and beyond) really fast. =)
