In your case, a difficulty-57 wasn't enough to outright qualify you for Division 4, because you had not developed the consistency to support it. There are no promotional scores, but your difficulty-57 [1-0-0-3], and new difficulty-58 [3-0-0-0] have pushed your skill rating above 5,550.

I didn't mention song names, because I expect your response to be "It's not a real 57". Skill Rating is not necessarily flawed because of the reason you mentioned, but since the system is based on difficulty, it assumes any flaws in the difficulty system.

I find one-hand players like yourself to be a fascinating edge case in the skill rating system. I spent hours trying to boot Zageron out of Division 5, and the skill rating formula as a whole improved as a result. If you feel you do not belong in Division 4 yet, and cannot wait for the next iteration of the skill rating formula, my advice would be to open a thread in the Contested Chart Difficulties sub-forums. There are several songs in the C/VC range that even spread players excel at, and could have a strong case built against them.

Woahwoahwoah! Why people saying good bye? I haven't finished placements yet. The people moving from D3 to D4 because of the new system, don't necessarily have to go. I haven't formally announced people graduating yet. We will find out a few days from now, but I might not follow the new skill ranking exactly....

Yeah, I actually agree. The new system to me is still imperfect. So, I will be staying in D3 until otherwise confirmed that I am, in fact, in the 4th Division. It won't be very soon, but it's getting there. Anyways, I do feel a bit improved when I can constantly partake in these weekly challenges. I think it was just a couple weeks ago that I felt that I just killed it. (I may have been inebriated in some way though, oops)

Anyways, keep up the fun fun fun-ness!

Can I have a cool NIA sig since I have perfect attendance?

Hey everyone, I'd like to join! I'm probably D2, but I'll let other people place me where they think I should be.

Also, I'm just going to dump this score here, since it's too noobish for the main FFR scores thread. It took a while to get the AAA, but I'm pretty happy with it. (I don't normally use a speedmod this high, but I thought it would help get rid of any mindblocks I had developed.)
