So I got one. Account name is Sethosquall. I have GTA4 and LBP.

So I was playing little big planet. And some ninja joined and helped me do stuff it was so epic.

Brilliant first impression for the game and console. Although I do prefer the 360 dashboard.

Ah sweet sweet dualshock. Still my favourite controller to hold.

PS3 is out of my reach since i cant get enough money to get one because of college. I want to get one but not now. When i do, i might get lbp and mgs4.

All I need is a PS3 and I have all the recent counsels.

But, to me, all the games I want to play is on the 360. Because of that, I favor the XBOX. Although if they come out with more american translated JRPG, I would be forced to buy a PS3.

How bout that new 120GB hdd $299 PS3 slim. It's ****ing amazing. No features were dropped.

Besides backwards compatibility but even the bigger PS3s had already stopped that so no surprise there.

I think everyone should get a ps3 for final fantasy 14 alone supposed releasing next year haha.

well i think the price drop is nice for people who dont have it and i reccomend getting the ps3 its a great system and besides backwards compatibilty is ruined because there are no memory card slots.

I got it the first day the slim came out. Always wanted one and now I have one, although my main counsle will still be my 360. Any multi platform game will be for my Xbox. Exclusive games for ps3 is the reason why I bought it. Although I wouldn't mind a differnt color.

PS: There is no reason why a video game counsel should ever cost more than 300$.

Actually, they dropped the ability to install custom OS.

Not that that is all that important.

Also hear it's a few seconds slower loading, but considering the nice price point, lower electricity draws, quieter fan, and bitstream audio for Blu-ray, I think it's an ok tradeoff. Not that bitstreaming audio really matters all that much, it's just nice to have the option, especially since it's a common feature among standalone BD players.

Not that I'd buy it anyway. Give me an exclusive game worth caring about or PS2 emulation and I'll jump at it, but until then, I'm doing fine with my 360 and standalone BD player.

Good emulation would allot memory on the harddrive as simulated memory cards.

A problem if you have an existing save file, but it is entirely workable.

A lot of the components of the PS3 were extremely pricey when it dropped, primarily the Blu-ray drive. But as Blu-ray has become more popular and in demand, cost of manufacture has gone down. I think Sony is STILL taking a loss on every PS3 sold though, so the inner components are still quite expensive.

I got new slim PS3 somehow, just waiting for FF13 now.

I already have BD recorder and BD drive inside PC so didn't get merit on blu-ray function sadly.

The only thing they took out is the ability to easily install Linux.

Everything else is in tact, and the slim actually has the additional feature of bitstreaming audio codecs for Blu-rays. Plus a bunch of other improvements. If you weren't looking forward to installing Linux on your PS3, the slim should fit every need you may have equally or better than the "fat" model.

ps what is crap about the PS3? The hardware is good, has plenty of nice features, and can play Blu-rays. The only thing that sucks about it is the price, but the price is actually pretty appealing now with the slim. I'm not a fan of their exclusives myself so I wouldn't buy a PS3 myself, but it's definitely not a bad piece of hardware.
