Re: How to get better at FFR
just practice. i do it one handed as well, and now i have no problems with the times you have to press two arrows at once. (these are commonly called "jumps", fyi ;p)

Re: How to get better at FFR
Well you can also try to improve at FFR by knowing the color coordination or the arrows, like when you year 16th arrows and etc. The arrows are usually placed evenly when colorized.

Re: How to get better at FFR
Sometimes it helps me to reverse the keypad. Take out the arrow keys and replace up and down, left and right. It makes the keys feel a little easier to reach and press.
Also, try to get used to kind of sliding your fingers instead of picking up your finger between each note (only helps if you play with one hand, might be a little harder to hit fast notes but with some practice you can REALLY impress people) But, these are just my techniques. Try them out but if they dont work try another or develop your own.

Why not just smack both with one finger at once...?

Re: How to get better at FFR
Practice that. I played one handed for about 3/4 of a year and I hit up/down jumps with just my middle finger. Just practice, that really is the only way to get better at anything in FFR. Also, the good is because you are hitting the note early or late, really it's just timing.

Re: How to get better at FFR
monkii: Trust me youll get used to missing arrows. Your not going to fc things this early on so just get used to it. only advice i have.
Also to stop the pain in your arm/wrist try elevating your wrist a bit. Roll up a sock and place it under your wrist. Having it elevated is easier on it.. at least for me

Re: How to get better at FFR
Something intriguing I thought. Since you can remap keys, for one handers, why not just set all 4 keys in a row so you don't need to even change wrist positions? Then again, 4 in a row might not input properly when doing hands. ...

Re: How to get better at FFR
When you first start you should pick a bunch of easy songs to start off. Once you get comfortable and chose a position for your fingers go for hard songs. I went from the Easy and Very Easy songs to Very Difficult and Challenging songs. Doing this helps you with your reading. You will miss a lot of arrows but your reading and timing improves really fast. Also never play nervous, take a deep breath before playing and have fun. Cheers XD
