Re: World of Warcraft
I am having a hard time understanding why you guys here are so serious about Wow. There is nothing complicated, difficult, hard to understand about it. The game is easy for children. Just play and have fun people.

Re: World of Warcraft
That's why I just refuse to PUG. I have enough of a reputation on my server for being a solid tank that people I know don't suck just ask me to tank if they need one.

Re: World of Warcraft
what you need to do is tell the person to read up on the latest strategies for their class squeek, give them subtle hints that they're not playing their toon to the best performance they can actually give. or just tell them to gtfo and read wowwiki and the forums.
p.s. getting back into wow in a month or two =\ anyone want a new dedicated healer that's been playing since vanilla?

Re: World of Warcraft
I have pugged everything so far, 25 man raids, 10 man raids, every heroic. Rarely have there been any problems. I think you guys are doing something wrong.
Even all the bg's are decent as alliance pugged. (except av) |

Just because you don't run into morons doesn't mean we don't. I once pugged Kara and I had a tank in Arms spec, and he refused to leave the instance. I've pugged Naxx-25 and it went very very well...but I also get my fair share of people who are totally retarded. Last edited by fido123; 03-2-2009 at 03:40 PM.. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Still, I don't see any reason to complain about it. Kick them out of the group/ leave the group, and get over it.

Re: World of Warcraft
it's that simple as izzy says yo, there's even a huge list of macros you can utilize that tells them they suck.

Re: World of Warcraft
I'm going to go ahead and say that you had a bad group to begin with. The only real way out is to say, "I got to go, sorry." They most likely aren't going to bug you about it after you leave.
Most of the under geared warrior tanks I know will tank with triple digit dps. He is obviously not going to be very good at building threat. If I had a party of good dps, they know when they need to stop doing damage to prevent pulling aggro off him. As long as your healer is decently geared, if your group has to stop dpsing for 10 or so seconds to help your tank build threat, then it shouldn't be a big issue. In pugs, you have to realize that you can't always pull your 2800 dps. My hunter friend can easily go over 3k dps, but you don't always see him doing that because sometimes the tank can't keep aggro off him. He has to drop as low as 1600 dps sometimes so he doesn't cause the tank to panic when he sees the mob running away from him. But then again, this is assuming the tank knows what he's doing, it's just that he may be lacking the gear. I have two herbalist. =X I may be dropping one of my character's herbalism for something more useful like Jewelcrafting. ~Tsugomaru

Well, now they know you're obviously lying. You don't need to give a reason if you want to leave a group.

But the outcome is more hilarious...plus you would be surprised how often the second one works.

95% of my pugs have been great. I only post the stupid ones because I'm not going to make a post every time a pug goes well.

The general rule most non-braindead raid leaders adhere to is "you only take loot for the role you played". If you healed the raid, you can only roll on healing gear. If you DPSed, no, you moron, you can't take the tanking set. It's astonishing how unbelievably greedy some hybrids are.

Re: World of Warcraft
The only one situation where that rule shouldn't be followed is if you specifically asked someone to respec so that you can get a raid going. It's not fair to say to a tank who respecced from dps so that he can tank for your raid that he can't have any dps gear. It's stupid that just because he's offspeccing for you at the moment, he can't roll on his main spec.

Re: World of Warcraft
Yeah, it's just "main set" "off set" "vendor set" for the most part.

Re: World of Warcraft
The line is kind of blurred when your "main spec" happens to be one you're not currently using.
