Food for thought:

What is Mexico's stance on illegal immigrants? What do the Mexican police do when they find South Americans crossing into their border?

They steal their money & shoot them. If they are lucky, they get beat up and deported.

What to do with the illegals already here is a difficult subject.

Cheers,

you just don't get it do you? you are just plain ignorant. I do not agree with coming to the country like that but they are right about one thing: the economy will crumble without them. if America just kicks them out many things would instantly be shaken and disrupted very badly and would maybe kill the economy.

Grant them citizenship.

If Mexicans were forced to become naturalized the companies that employ them would be forced to pay them minimum wage.

Edit: If we kick them out, we can give their jobs to the legal citizens who stand outside the Labor-Ready offices every morning at 4:30 waiting to be employed for a day.

How about just enforceing the minimum wage laws to begin with. That way there would be no incentive to hire illegals.

the first part of your argument was very smart and would definetly work. The second part though wouldn't.

that would stop the hiring of illegals but in no way would it stop illegals coming to this country.

I assume by "second part," you mean my comment about kicking illegals out and employing citizens.

I am well aware that thousands of the Americans on welfare are quite content to drain the system for the rest of their lives. I am also well aware that there are people humiliated to be on welfare. Granting citizenship to migrant workers not only forces the end to exploitation of those workers, it also provides competition for those jobs. If employers can no longer hire immigrants for less than minimum wage, they have no reason not to hire citizens who did not immigrate.

That's pure bull****. Guess what happened today? Nothing. The country didn't collapse, the economy didn't fail, nothing really happened. And if they all stopped coming to work, guess what. Businesses are forced to hire people for minimum wage, which means that those people then have more money to spend, so they do, and guess what that does

IT BOOSTS THE ****ING ECONOMY

I am going to put BOTH OF YOU in separate corners, and then each of you is going to write me an essay on why profanity does not win arguments if you do not CALM DOWN.

You are behaving like children. Stop insulting each other and maybe try to have an INTELLIGENT discussion.

you are just saying what you think. I've studied up on this. I know what I'm talking about. It would affect harshly in the long run. The businessess have less money and that affects the economy.

Studying up on it does not mean googling "economics"

I wish to have an intelligent discussion. I have not been using profanity to win arguments.

@sertman
age doesn't matter. I did not google economics. I've done reports on this at school and have payed lengthy attention to business reports and goverment standings on the subject. Dude, you're attacking me, I'm attacking your argument.
