If blurk and Zag actually considers going I guess I could consider it too... I'd bring some friends as well and we'd abuse every bemani machine that ever existed.

The Mideast includes Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan... nobody is going to want to go there.
Do you guys remember my plans for a Chicago meetup? Yeah, that's right. I didn't get too much interest, and it was supposed to happen this summer. It's a shame I only got moderate interest from a few people. I'd be willing to try for '07, though, if anyone's interested. There's some good arcades, downtown, and Synth.

I think it's relatively obvious what should be done...
Many individual meetups placed in areas of higher FFR population. Best would probably be: MI, NY/NJ, TX/OK/greatplains, CA, OR So, 5. Really, there is no way in hell everyone will be able to come to any ONE meetup. Most realistic idea is segmented meetups positioned logically throughout the country.

I think we could get a very large percentage of the regulars in on a KC meetup.

Since I don't live in the states I have no idea of what places have more to offer then others, but after GPs description of KC it sure sounds promising.

And saying that a large percentage would be there can be said of all the places I said (except MI LOL that totally fell apart...). Even a more southern east coast meetup would have quite a few people going.

If it ends up being at KC, I could probably pick up some people between Ohio and KC.

I SUPPOSE Andy and I could pick people up. We might also be persuaded to take separate cars to pick up even more Texans.

As long as it's somewhere in the Midwest, I'd probably be able to go. But, it'd have to be in the summer. Too much to worry about during spring break as far as schoolwork and such goes. Plus, nobody has the same spring break. Mine was (er, is) planned around Easter, while some are weeks before.

Yeah, I know everybody has a different spring break. I didn't even have one this year, I had 5 days including the weekend for Easter.
It will be in the summer. Summer 2006 or Summer 2007, you choose. I'd rather it be 2006 since I could get a ride from whoever stays at my house. I know it's not possible to have a country meetup, but if you're doing something close to it you'd want it in the middle of the country. People on the west coast wouldn't have to go across the whole country to go to a meetup, and same for East Coasters. I can only have 4 people stay at my house so one of them has to be able to drive. These arcades and places I listed are scattered throughout the city. Last edited by Gamepro17616; 04-24-2006 at 12:11 PM.. |

You guys should come to sweden for this:
http://www.dreamhack.se/dhs06/en.100.html It's the biggest LAN-party of all times. Me, Zagh and the swedish Izzy (aka IzzyOnline and IzzySM) is going there this summer among others. The event is twice a year and I was there this winter, 7000 people including visitors ^__^.

Since I'm getting good opinions about this I'll go ahead and say we'll do this for sure. We need to decide on a date though. I think it would be cool to have it around 4th of July. (I don't remember if I said this earlier) We spend about $200 on fireworks every year so it would be cool to come out to my house for that stuff. Izzy could join us and we could have a huge party? Or we could go over to his place.

The 4th of July tends to be a family holiday. Plan for a few days after, or before.
