Hayden's sonata doesn't have the same effect on me as Reach's. It's the same for me with all Reach files: I perceive them as **** at first, but they eventually grow on me and I love them more than anything. No other simfile artist has this effect on me.
Favorite file: Kilga's one that has all the 24ths. Unique, unexpected, and challenging. Least favorite: IDM. what. the hell. Stupid bpm changes all over the place, too many freezes, too many jacks, too many unecesarry gallops. I would say mine was even better than this, and mine isn't very good. |

I understand if most people dislike Flashman. I mean, yeah, it's technically accurate, but it's too easy.
Just wait for TGWP. |

It's so weird how people who like my files (Kefit, Hr2) hate Biaxident, yet people who have (probably) never played my files like Zag, Reach and Duk like it. I've noticed that it's becoming increasingly difficult to know what other people will like in files, so I'm retreating to solipsist arrow theory.
Basically, "**** all y'all". Here's my awesome ranking of Lordly Caliber with my files disqualified: 23) Tetris - This obviously goes here. 22) Tetrimax - I know I used to step crap like Ninja Technique. Simply existing simultaneously in the world with the fact that someone made and stepped this song redeems me completely. 21) Sea Air - This song uses a form of parallel motion that I find endearing. Yeah, I realize the dude probably just loaded a sample of some pad with more than one voice into FL and started jerking off. Yeah, the steps are still garbage bye. 20) Carmen's Prelude - Nice pad file. 19) Sarah's Song - I like this file as a whole. It's so random and stupid. Who the hell would listen to this and think "OH MAN GOTTA STEP IT ALL!" and then go and make the file? It's... strangely refreshing. 18) Wild horses 17) TKM - Ok song with annoying doubles patterns. I tried to play it again, but couldn't resist pushing the Esc key. It was amazing; as though I had some kind of stepmania tourette's. 16) Sahti Waari - tg;dp 15) That Is Fair - Please stick to making awesome melodic music. 14) Mr 120000 is Sad Most of the Time - The beginning is unavoidably boring. I just don't get it. 13) Holic - I zone out on this file in a semi-good way. Seems to end before I know happened. 12) Wizards In Winter - Would be an awesome file if skauert would stop adding queer freezes to everything. I realize that there is probably some ambient background noise or reverberation that guides the mile-****ing-long-and-annoying freezes. While I realize this, I don't appreciate how this file masquerades around as a fun file at first, only to turn into a "challenging" file that uses queer freezes to make it harder. That kind of thing usually ends up annoying both camps. Just pick one or the other. 11) Sepia - Nice file, but some parts were blatant bull****. Was the person hearing some phantom sound that wasn't there? Bullsht is usually fine, but it's too noticeable in this case and ruins immersion. 10) Insect Digestion Melody - leel IDM. 9) Nice Nice Noise - Disgustingly good song. Somewhat tolerable steps. 8) Renaissance - Expertly crafted and often onbeat, although I don't really "get it". Still a good file. 7) Swivel - Step quality varies. There are some mediocre patterns. This is also a "plunkable" song. Plunkable songs usually need something more than streams. Mostly great, but could've gotten higher. 6) Sonata Claro de Luna - A few areas were slightly off. Others were total genius. I'm sick of hearing this song though, so I'll likely never play it 5) Mr 12000 is a Lie - Cool and I don't mind the bpm changes; red and blue streams are pretty refreshing. Ends abruptly, but there's not much one can do about that. 4) Milky Way Overworld - Fun on spread, but everyone else seems to hate it. I find the ending to be completely sensical and hyper-kawaii. 3) Flashman - I usually don't feel like I'm actually creating any sounds in Stepmania. Playing this sim is almost like playing a keysounded game. 2) You Wanna me - Coming from someone who makes and steps music, this song has a disgustingly high sound quality and is way too damn good. The steps are just about perfect. It's pretty easy though, and while good for people who suck, gets slightly boring on multiple playthroughs. It's not really a valid complaint, just my preference that things be a certain difficulty. 1) Ripple Star - You can say whatever you want about anything, but I ended up playing this file more than all the others. If that's less important than other randomly selected criteria, then all words and thoughts are a sham and we should go back to living in caves. 0) Biaxident/Abomination Street/Cynic/Emelia Finale - lmao owned noobs KIL WINS AGAIN. Mr. 12000 Is Sad Most of the Time is the best sim in this thing. Incredibly fun, complex steps make it the most enjoyable sim I have played in some time.
Ripple Star would be awesome if I didn't utterly detest some of the patterns used in it (428682428682428682428682 DIE DIE DIE). A lot of the incredibly technical files (Flashman, Renaissance, etc) I found incredibly boring to actually play. I still have yet to play about half of these, so more thoughts might be forthcoming.

"KIL WINS AGAIN."
Emelia Finale/Cynic/All those other files are the best in da world. As for explanations of my top 3 rankings and why I put them in that order... Insect Digestion Melancholy - My jaw dropped when I played this, I heard the song in a whole different way due to the notes he used. It isn't really the first simfile that made me do this, but this one was just like "OH **** I NEVER EVEN HEARD THAT WOW." when I played it. I felt really good after that, so maybe I'm biased because of that experience, but I still believe its one of the best files I've played in a long while. Flashman - I know how hard it is to sync piano (I'm trying to do 2 piano songs right now, very slow work) and I enjoy Blurk's style. You Wanna Me -This is one of the best simfiler created songs ever, seriously. The steps are ridiculously cool aswell. Plus Vospi is one of the best "unknown" artists, I put that in quotations because lots of simfilers know him and now everyone does because of this pack. You want to disregard me views because I didn't like Biaxident, whatever. It didn't feel like the Kil files I know and love.

ps reach you have random .02 pauses and all your notes other than 16ths are off excluding the easy to recognize 12th and 24th part

They arn't random. It offsets to 32nds if you don't put them in. I am going to check yours now to reprove this fact.
And you say that as if your version has no notes that are off! lol edit: So, I just took the time to go back and run through yours, with a perfected gap and the music slowed to judge it purely technically. There are plenty of notational mistakes. 48ths that are not even in the music (what the ****? there is not even a note there) How can you even say that with a straight face when you have put notes to silence (unless you count the left hand, but that's absurd since you're following the right and the left are 16ths XD) Ok, notational mistakes with the 32nds... And now for the biggest joke of all. YOUR STEPS GO OFFBEAT WHERE YOU DO NOT PUT THE STOP!! JOKES ON YOU HAYDEN!! HAHAHAHAHA (don't take offense to this, since you know, we're tight and I have nothing against you but holy **** dude lmfao.)

As for the steaming pile of **** comment, I like how I mimic the notes down to the T, since I used the original sheet music, yet you put 48ths to silence and don't even notice an offset. If you don't like the notes then you don't like the song. As for the slowdown, it is slightly off and I obviously admit, however if the gap is right it is actually very close for freestyling the notes xD
It's not really about being better. Someone else brought up the comparison, and you were quick to omg mine is better, so I wanted to bring up some solid facts here and defend my territory XD

yeah =p, understandable, but here: i make the mistake of copy paste in parts that are similar, and that was a case where i messed up. during 22-23 there are 48ths.. but at the end there aren't, i hadn't bothered to listen to it, i just wanted to finish it up.
and.. if someone has a midi of this i'll correct it.. lol theres some parts of yours i still dont get.. but okay |

ATTN EVERYONE
PAY NO ATTENTION TO WHAT REACH SAYS ABOUT SYNC THAT KID MAY BE CRAZY AT SM AND PIANO BUT HE SUCKS AT SYNC uh, yeah. reach. the music itself has small bpm shifts. it does NOT stop arbitrarily for .02 seconds. just because you have the wrong bpm and it goes offsync does not mean its correct to use a bpm stop to fix it. remember all around the world v2? where you had 132.02 bpm and random .02 stops? yeah that was really dumb seeing as how the bpm is 132.00 and NO stops. anyway both of your steps to that song suck i dont know what youre arguing about. hayden, yours are no fun. defend your break ya neck if you want, thats fun. this isnt. reach, yours isnt fun either. defend gargoyle. not that piece of crap. k argument settled. |
