donkey balls?

Everyone, im sorry to say it but moogy is right. It may have been the shit back then but I just beat it for the first time and it wasn't that great. Graphics really sucked but I will admit the story was ok.

And just because it was the first to have something new doesn't make it the best ever.

You shouldn’t have said that really. I mean if you actually read that you might see that what you’re stressing is contradicted, by yourself. The theme of this thread is you put forward your favourite games etc and he tells you what he thinks is wrong. Nobody said that he was right. At the end of the day you achieved nothing. Yea has very critical and head strong in his opinions. You stressed about opinions. There his. Your the one dictating.

I have to agree with Moogy wholeheartedly. I started playing RPGs with Super Mario RPG. Thus, my expectations have always been high. FFVII, to me, was an atrocity. It pained me to finish it, seriously, but I had to play it to see what the rage was all about. I was utterly disappointed. For once, I agree with Moogy on EVERYTHING in this thread... except for, perhaps, his comment about his own intelligence and such

For instance, the Advent Children thing, the re-make in ps3, and they might be making a sequel game to Final Fantasy VII, just like they did to Final Fantasy X.
First off, they are not remaking it for ps3, they just redid the opening scene to show off the graphics and crap. Second, they arent making a sequel to it (at least no time soon) and third off - the sequel for FFX SUCKED BEYOND IMAGINE!

You know, i think moogy is a bit of an idiot myself...but hes not completely wrong. I have played all of the final fantasy series games and i have to say that FFVII disappointed me the most. In fact, it was the only one that i got bored of and gave up. Cause the storyline wasn't very good, and the graphics were horrible (even if you look at all the other games at that time). The only other game in the series i hated was the sequel to the FFX one (as mentioned above). Now im not saying that it was a horrible game....its just it wasnt as good as everyone says it was plus it wasnt as good as the others as far as storyline goes. Yes, i admit it wholeheartedly, it was a breakthrough for the genre and possibly the series. But that still doesnt make it magnificent.

FFX-2 . . .

Made me never want to play FFX again. It just got retardedly stupid. They should have had a F(&^$)* Cactuar Garment Grid. That would have gave a lot more replay value, no?

The only reason to play X-2 is to slaughter those happy little choco-bastards

FF7

I nevr had time ta fight Teh RUby and EMerald Weapons. DId I miss anyting?

The storyline was boring? wtf are you smoking?

Final Fantasy VII's story was filled with all kinds of unanswered questions and wtf's. It contained a huge shocker at the end of the first disc, which was just fucking awesome; it had characters who just grew more and more over the last two discs, and it just gave off that movie feel.

I'll admit that I had stopped reading for a long number of years. Videogames (RPGs mainly) had become my books. I had to rely on their stories to be entertained and Final Fantasy VII didn't nothing short of entertain me.

Final Fantasy VII like many other games has obtained itself a huge and loyal fanbase. A game that has a huge fanbase has obviously done something right, and will have people like Moogy who can't stand it's popularity and retaliate against it. Take Counter-Strike for example. It unfortunatly is still one of the most popular FPS's out there. I personally can't stand even hearing it's name but the fact remains that it has something to offer which makes it attractive to many gamers.

The same goes for Final Fantasy VII, although I'm on the side that likes it in it's case. When you search this forum for "Final Fantasy VII" you will find 143 results. When you search it for "FF7" you get 55 results, and 28 with "FFVII". It doesn't matter how the game is mentioned in those threads, the fact that it's been mentioned so many times, and has so much contraversy around it makes it stand out. The game itself has an adictive storyline, the graphics were good for it's time, and the music still inspires many remixes today. Final Fantasy VII was and IS a great game and a classic for many gamers today.

I agree with freak83 and all, cause it was a good game. It just wasnt AS good as some of the others in my opinion. No one can EVER say it was a waste of a game, because fact is that it wasnt. I am really only against it because it didnt really make me want to play the game all the way through.
