Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
Mythix, go download ZBrush, It will make your life so much easier.
And no that isn't Swabber, it was some random girl in my class. I've done drawings of her though. I can't draw very well with pencil, but with charcoals I'm alright =/ Ps. ZBrush now. Last edited by darkshark; 10-19-2009 at 12:48 AM.. |

Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
We're using mudboax instead of Zbrush. Is there a particular reason everyone vouches for Zbrush instead of mudbox? IMHO mudbox looks easier :S

Feel free to PM me if you're interested! Also darkshark about it being too curvy, we're practising subdivision which is mainly what I want to model a dragon for.. Nice feedback though. leonid you and me appear pretty equal in drawing xD looks abit like my first dragon even though I'm doing tutorials now, the infamous "draw 50 dragons" book.

Credits to Rinpoo Chuang for the black dragon and DragonOfThynHeart on Devi~ for the white. They show sort of what I need visible, allthough I want them in a rather unnatural pose; standing upright instead of crouching on the pictures. As for the head Side: No idea who made the doll, the sketch belongs to Auns. That gives the big idea though, right?

Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
Nope, that one is nice and clean, I like it. Allthough I like the epicness of the dragon on first page, the one you drew first... =)

Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
Easier = noob
ZBrush has reversible poly mesh subdivision, as well as every painting option you can think of. It's just superior. And why I say you should be using ZBrush with your model is this; Create a VERY basic model in 3ds max, I'll boot up my 3ds max and give example pics in a bit, then move the obj file over to Zbrush (mudbox if you really want to) then sculpt out the larger dragon-like details from there, then subdivide, go into more detail, subdivide, more detail, sub etc. Wings would be something you would model separately then attach later on. I'll try and make a quick example. |

Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
ZBrush is amazing. Google ZBrush Central and check out some people's projects.
I'm personally not very used to the software, but in the future I'll definitely be taking the time to become comfortable with it- it's quite a fascinating program.

Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
First off I box modeled the dragon, starting with one box, 2 width segments.
Then convert it to an editable poly. and start extruding the sides. (switched to 3ds max 10, just cause I like the modeling controls better) Save the model as .obj wherever (export) OPENZBRUSHBITCHES and then import your model Then just subdivide it (ctrl D) and get to work! This part kinda depends on your own artistic level, but after you're satisfied with the details you have, subdivide again, and add more, and so on. This is about 8 minutes of sculpting 15 mins Will post more as i continue. Actually nah I think I'm done, but you get the picture. Last edited by darkshark; 10-19-2009 at 05:50 PM.. |

Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
LOL I lol'ed so hard at my own stupidity right now!
It only loaded the first picture, this and I wrote a reply to that, but couldn't post because I lost my internet, hence not loading the other pictures > I really have to try ZBrush now, I did a human head in mudbox and after changing the skin, the lightning setup was no where as good as the one you have there in ZBrush. It was good though. Will be testing, thanks. But I still need the drawings because I'm doing this for class, and it's not an ZBrush assignment (unfortunately) but I will toy with it for decals if I'm happy with my model. EDIT: Btw that's a happy dragon, lol.

Re: Would YOU do drawing requests?
Import it back into 3DS or mudbox or whatever after crafting it in ZBrush.
