OF COARSE I'M HUMAN!!! A cat's just my personal character, it's not who I am. Personal characters aren't nesesarily who you are. Also, all the furries I know also don't believe they really are animals. And trust me, that one thing I said forget it about would only make things worse. Edit: The reason I am not like other furries is because I am an asshole. Most furries are nice people.

PS. My actual belief: in general, a single human has more potential than a single non-human animal. Humans can create some pretty cool stuff... please let me know if you see an animal write a short story or essay, construct a machine, or prove a mathematical theorem. I don't hate animals but I definitely think their lives are less valuable than human lives. Honestly, all most species can do is hunt/kill/eat and reproduce.

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
I honestly thought on page 1 that Sags was just kidding. Like, seriously, just messing around. And everyone was falling for it, taking the troll bait.
... And then I read the other 2 pages. ... I'm actually floored. And yeah, I guess you could consider me a humafag because I'm pretty intolerant to the idea of people being animals or animals living inside people or people putting themselves in animals or dressing up like an animal and running around like an animal and barking like an animal and eating like an animal and playing chess like an animal and I AM NOT AN ANIMAL! I AM NOT AN ANIMAL! and smelling me like an animal and buying groceries for me like an animal and pumping gas for me like an animal and delivering the Publisher's Clearing House Check to me like an animal. No but really I'm pretty intolerant because I think it's weird and pretty deviant. Also, how does dog fighting work for furries? Do you guys just suit up and box?

human beings are animals, the only difference is we have the capability of using our brainpower to kill other animals

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
The term "Furry" has a very negative connotation for being a sexual fetish, however it doesn't always apply to that. You don't have to want to **** an animal to be a furry.
If you (gender-neutral singular you, no pointin' fingers here) watch furry porn, however, then that's just sick. In my opinion, furries are just those people that like animals to the point of thinking they're all cuddly and cute and have them as their avatar and bring them up in everyday conversation and perhaps would even like to be one over a human. Just clearin' that up. Now we, as humans, are far more intelligent than any animal you can name. We are currently one of the few animals known to have a complex form of communication (unless you count teaching chimpanzees sign language). That is what many biologists believed to be the main difference between us and animals. If other animals could communicate between their species as well as we could, they would be a sort of sentient species along with us. The only example I can think of that comes close to this would be ants. The queen ant uses chemical signals in the form of commands, and the ants "smell" them with their antennae. Ants can tell if another ant is from their colony or not, just by their smell. They are the perfect soldiers, willing to die for the queen with their group mentality. Unfortunately, they are only as smart as the queen is, and the queen doesn't tell them to make anything out of any material except from dirt or leaves (correct me if I'm wrong on this). We are by far more advanced than the ants due to our size, curious nature, and innovative ability to form anything we see into a new tool, or a tool much better than anything else currently made. With our communicative prowess, can teach all others of our species of our inventions. Which is the biggest difference between us and ants - our brain capacity. In my opinion, our ability to grow and evolve as a community is wholly based on our brain capacity to be able to learn more things. We can also understand the concept of things. For an animal, it is probably just as hard to learn the number 5 as it was to learn 4, and so on. Our complex mind can understand the concept of such natures and can learn new things all throughout our lives. Ants will probably never evolve past what they are now, despite how much longer they have been on this world than us. They simply don't have the brain capacity, and said capacity is probably growing smaller as the amount of oxygen concentration in air is lowering (ants breathe through holes in their body, and the lower the oxygen concentration, the smaller ants have to be to actually breathe, so that natural selection has made them smaller and smaller over the years). So as you can see, intelligence and overall worth as a species is defined by the ability to communicate effectively through your species, the brain capacity to learn more things that you hear from others, the ability to understand concepts which makes learning as a whole much easier, and an innovative personality/curiosity to be able to try new things and see if they stand up to or are better than anything we've used before. We won't make our way of living worse simply for the benefit of saving animals, unless the act of saving said animals would be beneficial to our species. Call it selfish, but it's how our minds are naturally programmed - to ensure the survival of our own species as a whole. We won't "save the whales" unless the whales have something we need that we can't find elsewhere, save for sentimentality. Then again, I pulled all of this out my ass. Add on/correct me if you want.

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
Reading that quote out of context, it makes me think of someone with psychic powers or Darth Vader choking an animal
But surely what he meant was that we have excessive brain power in comparison to other animals, so that hunting is much easier for us - in fact, the act of observing that animals hunt others proves that we understand what hunting is, and how other animals do it, so that we could imitate every other animals' hunting styles (maybe not effectively, since that's not what we were designed for, but it's still possible), while having some complex methods of our own.

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
It's called the Food Chain and every predator and prey species is a part of it. I'd expect someone who's so into animals to know stuff like that. Besides, the Earth doesn't care WHAT lives or dies... millions of species went extinct before the first human existed, and millions of species will go extinct after the last human dies.

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
None of you get it. Sure, we have brain power, that makes our lives better, but we use our intelligence to make other creatures lives worse. And all you guys care about is humans. If any species were to die out besides us, you wouldn't give two ****s about it. It's just "Whatever's good for us." It doesn't matter if it's good for everything else, no matter how destructive or violent it is, If it's good for us, who cares. Infact, I am willing to bet that if you had the power, you would kill everything else on this planet in a heartbeat. And that, my friends, is why humans are terrible creatures.
PS: The only reason my personal character is a furry is because I absolutely REFUSE to make it a human. I don't go for that furry porn or anything like that.

Wow, you know, you've hit the nail right on the head. You clearly understand humans way better than any of us.

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
Why not? Animals have no sense of cruelty.
Do you suggest we stop harvesting crops, because they might feel bad? Because we might wipe them out? Listen, it's not like we're going out and murdering huge numbers of animals. Most animals that we eat have horrid living conditions and are pumped full of hormones to make them extra delicious. Death is a sweet, sweet release for them, and sweeter for us because they taste ****ing sweet. If someone comes along and figures out how to kill humans complacently, without complaint or without humans doing a thing about it, we deserve it. But I'm not going to act like nature is retarded and put it on the short bus and give it a cookie every time it falls down because that's just a waste of my time. I don't do that for most retarded kids anyway.

After that, I grab seven thousand rifles and head out further into the forest so I can kill as many deer, foxes, raccoons, and whatever else I can. But instead of just shooting them in the head, I shoot them right in the neck so they bleed out for hours and hours before dying. Then I just leave them there, because why would I even bother eating them? Of course, I don't really kill animals and I have no intention of ever going hunting (though I do have the birdfeeders and such--we have at 50 birds who use them and love them). But you're suggesting that if I see a dying squirrel on the side of the road that had just been hit by a car, I should give it equal treatment to a human in the same situation. We treat humans better because humans aren't stupid. We (well, not you) act on reason and thought before setting out to do things. Animals don't. Animals can't think. They have no reasoning. Everything they do relies upon instinct. Do I think I'm better than animals for being able to work my way through a situation with reason? Hell yes I do. Am I going to kill an animal to prove my superiority? Hell no. Also, if you don't want people associating you with furries, don't call yourself a furry. Just call yourself an animal rights activist. We'll hate you all the same, but at least we won't think of you as enjoying sex with fursuits on. |
