Re: Hearthstone
I'm almost convinced I'm never gonna get a beta key for any blizzard game. I've been buying their games since the 90s and not once have I been in a beta of theirs rofl.

Re: Hearthstone
Its will go open beta soon enough anyways, I didn't get a key through them either. Someone on the hearthstone subreddit pm'd one to me after they noticed me helping new people out with stuff I learned from reading/watching streams.
Doesn't matter what you've done for them when the keys are random, I also own pretty much all of their games (sans HotS, SC2 is meh compared to WC3 for me) and have had an active wow account since vanilla. The only beta I was invited to was the crappy mists demo for buying the year pass. (That was not a beta, nothing reported was fixed) In the meantime there is Might & Magic: Duel of Champions which is another F2P card game, a little more tactics-like but very enjoyable. |

Re: Hearthstone
1-3 paladin on my first arena
RNG is Da Best (ofc this makes me feel less bad about getting wrecked by leeroy jenkins and onyxia from a warlock) |

Re: Hearthstone
For arenas, pick your first 10 ignoring curve, just take the most powerful card (within its cost bracket) and then start worrying about it.
Never pass on an Acidic Swamp Ooze or Shattered Sun Cleric. Spellbreaker is great too. (Shuts down most legendary/epic cards, removes buffs and taunt, wins games) Don't overload with situational cards, like if you draft priest and get 2 mind controls, don't take more than 1 SW: Death or else you'll be flooded with unusable cards. If you ever think to yourself "I'll pass on it now, and grab one later" give your head a shake and take it, you don't know if there are 0 or 10 in the next 20 picks. You can also watch some streams/videos to get more insight on which picks are good, Kripp and Trump do a value town video on youtube/twitch every now and then. They aren't the end-all authority on arena play, but for a beginner their views on certain cards/decks can help you understand things better. |

Re: Hearthstone
ye i'm starting to watch trump, ek0p, massan and kripp (whoever is on) for more info on dealing with various types of decks
and drafting as well they seem to look ahead a few turns and weigh the values of their trades/cards really well |

christ Opening 2 golden legendaries + 2 legendaries + 1 golden common, happens every 640000000 opening. (0.05 * 0.05 * 0.0025 * 0.0025 * 0.10) * 100 = 0.000015625% http://i.imgur.com/RF2oUmu.jpg |

Re: Hearthstone
Seriously, In the last 2 years I can name every time I've taken a drink, First at a christmas part with family, I had to a big can of Canadian, 2 tall glasses of Spiced Rum and a bit of wine with dinner. Slightly Tipsy because of the mixing. Then I had a bunch when I went to worlds for LoL, There was one day I had 2 Screw drivers, a couple vodka 7s after like 6 hours of walking on an empty stomach. also slightly tipsy.
Then finally a Pint of Guinness while waitiing for Thor 2 showing to start at the theater. So this was a step up, I've never drank so much in my life. I can't really tell how good the video is because I'm still out of it. But I laughed my ass off watching the highlight. Extra link to the highlight because I've had issues with twitch deleting shit before. http://www.twitch.tv/jerot/c/3329223 enjoy *edit*- if someone can count the number of shots I had that would be awesome, I can't keep focused on the video enough to keep a list. Anytime I took Kraken instead of JD it was a half shot (1.5oz shotglass so .75) Golden Common Half JD Golden Rare JD Epic JD Legendary Kraken Golden Epic/Legendary Kraken AND JD Last edited by omega_grunt666; 12-1-2013 at 10:36 PM.. |

Re: Hearthstone
I was gonna drink anyways :P This just made it more fun. Had a friend watching the stream and drinking with me so that made it more interesting. Drunken debate about how good Hearthstone cards are makes for fun times.

Re: Hearthstone
Just got this game recently. Super fun so far.
Mage seems like the strongest class to me but I've also been playing around with Warlock. OP cards (??): Defender of Argus, Dark Iron Dwarf, Sun Cleric?? Why make a deck that doesn't have them? I'm still new at this but they're so mana efficient and strong. Added them to deck and wins flowed like running water. Mind you I don't have any good legendaries etc yet ;o
