So what's all the hubbub about? If you want to get your groove on and don't have the means to get up and shake it, FFR will fulfill your every need. Pound those keys and make your fingers dance!

You enter a website called "FlashFlashRevolution", you probably expect a DDR clone, you click the bold "Play FFR" button and find a game where you have to press buttons corresponding to flying arrows.

isn't that enough

Speaking of playing FFR...

The R^3 engine itself isn't very convenient as much as it looks a lot nicer. You, the beginning player, must navigate to the very complicated Settings menu and either change the Judge offset to 1 or the Frame rate to 60. Not to mention speed vs. rate etc.

This is a huge deal, and I'm pretty sure there's at least one post around these forums somewhere where I mentioned that the internal offset of the engine needs to be changed so that things can naturally be played on 0/0 in as many situations as possible. The more people that can play the game "out of the box", the more people that will likely be retained. At 30 FPS, 2/1 is pretty much de-facto, and even if the global isn't 2, the judge offset is almost certainly going to be 1 for anyone transitioning from a different engine or just playing naturally.

An in-game engine tutorial would be quite nice, and some sort of sync test to help calibrate visual/global offset would be great too - but... that's not something that can really be facilitated at the moment, it would seem.

I replied to you, rushy, and psycho in one post. But that post was deleted by psycho because she didn't want to be involved in the argument. Prawn was going to bring it back, but I requested it stay dead since that was too, addressed in private.

But in short, these points aren't any less invalid than you've tried to make them. People have said they agree. People can see past jokes to get to the actual content. Why can't you?

I also asked about these settings. One of the users played the game for a while. (He beat the d7 song. Wtf man.) He said most of the settings made sense, and they were not too hard to find. They said the set up was easy enough to get the basics of.

Way to tunnel in and target me for something completely unrelated.

The point that I'm quoting has nothing to do with you, it has to do with me highlighting the fact that something was brought publicly, and up until the point where PrawnSkunk said he was talking to you, the response was generally negative. You had an idea that you brought community input for, and then when it went sour, you basically disregarded that fact and allowed for private/internal discussion to go around rather than seeking any sort of improvement. You didn't even bother to ask how things could be made better, you started targeting people as if they were all wrong and as if their points were meaningless.

I'll summate once more until I get home and can actually afford to make a response that takes me 2+ hours to make highlighting everything that the site could do: tokens and gameplay are a tiny piece of a huge underlying problem where users don't engage with the site.

I was one of the only people that didn't complain about the joke titles :/ what are you even talking about.

EDIT: you were replying to Halogen, lel. But still you did kinda deserve some flak for those..

You're not comparing the same things, I'm not having a conversation with you in private about anything in this thread. I stated why I removed it so you'd know why it was gone and that I wanted no involvement because honestly there's a lot of stuff I can say, but I just don't want to go there.

The stuff you said to rushy and TC was minimal but I can restore it and just remove everything that had to do with my old post.

Edit: the stuff to them from the post

Thirdly, TC_Halogen I do expect criticism. But if the thread is remotely seriously, I want a bit more than "your delivery sucks". Clearly other people got the message. Even if people disagree with what my CONTENT says, at least it's my content, and not how I write it. I didn't get to read what you deleted, so I have no clue what else to say here.

Lastly, I thank everyone else who is taking this thread seriously, agreeing or not. I believe discussion is the best way to get everyone's opinion collectively.

Bullshit. First off, Prawn contacted me first today, so it wasn't like this was planned, or I was bitching to Prawn. Second off, the majority of it isn't as sour as you're making it out to be. There has been clear positive response with the majority. Thirdly, I directly replied to your BS claim that points have been taken away. They haven't, and you've not argued a single point. If you're going to, do it, and don't make pot shot posts without refuting my points. I'm tunneling you because you're the ONLY ONE who has failed to say anything about the actual content instead of the presentation of it. I will be sated once you get your two hour post out, but until then, seriously, wait on making shots on how I write my stuff.

Thank you.~ And yes, thanks for clarifying, but I meant that you addressed why it was deleted.

And yes rushy, I read all of it. And looking at it... yeah. The button shouldn't go there. But it should go somewhere. :P

the real question here is why the ffr logo typeface has changed so many fucking times since 2007

whoever has been choosing these typefaces sure likes classic neo grotesque and grotesque. that's not a bad thing but at least fucking kern if you're going to be using franklin gothic jesus christ the current logo has triggered me since its inception

this is the real conspiracy

Just want to jump in here as he's at work and I think all of this could be coming out wrong. I think the primary thing he was getting at is that a public discussion is now going behind the scenes again by a prominent staff member. Rather than Prawn posting in here so that everyone can see publicly what he has to say to you it's behind closed doors.

There's always been a major problem with the higher ups in ffr and transparency with the members of the community and it actually tends to get really frustrating for a lot of people. Whatever he has to say about the subject should be here like everyone else.

Edit: This is also why I'm not having a conversation in private with you over the things in this thread. Anything I have to say I will put out publicly. Right now I just haven't wanted to get involved as my head is foggy from being sick and I already have a really hard time coming off the right way in what I say on a normal day.
