Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
Wrist-based movements are pretty hard to control. Certainly on the piano I could never trill with my wrist, I have to use my fingers. Keyboards are a little different because they offer less resistance than a piano key, but I still attain my fastest consistent trilling by far with my wrists raised and small finger motions only. The only time I incorporate my wrist is to cheat faster trills- maybe this becomes the norm at higher skill levels?

Changed the image a tiny bit to add frame numbers on the notes, since it's hard to judge the distance.

I haven't seriously played this file since I've skill boosted. While I don't think I'm capable of sub 150 on the file I do think I can get sub 50 misses and sub 30 boos with a decent conbo

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
Anyways it would indeed be interesting to see how people do on this file with practice. :P

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
after an sm session sometime i'll do some isolation and give it an honest few runs. ffr's been lagging less than usual (tho i still can't read it that well and i get bogus misses so i won't fc). could be interesting to try and score on this pos haha

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
i just get a bit of a buggy framerate in all the engines, standalone or not. sometimes it fixes itself sometimes not i dont really care haha. more than that though i just get a lot of goods and i refuse to believe i get goods
also i'm pretty sure i split basically ALL my jumps/hands on this laptop which is fine for sm but obviously not for this i can MA the jumpjacks at the beginning of shash's DP but good/boo the hell out of them in FFR rip

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
Velocity: You seriously have no way of finding my old DP replay? Why not? You have RATO/Gigadelic/RAN, right?

There is no trace of it anywhere.
Edit: Scratch that, found something by doing something I never thought of before. Last edited by Velocity; 03-23-2012 at 08:15 AM.. |

I always thought that FFR held onto a fair number of replays even if you didn't choose to "save" them publicly

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
If you can't find it (which totally kills the fun here) I will announce here the truth of the replay soon

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
after actually playing the file and seeing what i have to do/improve on i dont think i'll be capable of what i said earlier lmao 50 misses and 30 boos is doable but i dont think i can break 200 goods
welp back to training btw subin the ending jump section is just jumptrills with jack transition similar to the ending of accross rooftops iirc proud of this score

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
Why do we call it a megatrill when it's not even a trill...

Re: The Death Piano Thread (And Why You Are Missing Out)
Concave spread is easier to get used to than most people think, I use EFLP.
Dossar can get away with saying almost anything because he has the scores to prove it works, but the fact is, he gets amazing scores in spite of 1.75x linear spread, not because of it. Concave is superior in every single way (and not just for DP) and 1.75 is a pretty bad speedmod for visual PA. Not using either of those things is the only reason my scores are only half-shitty instead of full-shitty. Last edited by Mike Weedmark; 03-23-2012 at 05:48 PM.. |
