I feel like there were a couple of things I was going to comment on as I got caught up, but now I don't remember what they were. Oh well.

Night talk is... interesting. I used to be completely opposed to meaningful discussion during Night phases, but I might have a slightly different take on that nowadays. I guess I would encourage talking about the game while applying more of a filter to oneself. There are certain things which are better left unsaid for the time being.

Night phases for TWG, when there is one you can talk in, in a lot of sites seem to go with the "Lets not say much of anything" mentality.

Up to you if you want to stay quiet or not though in this phase.

twg is a game of confronting the failures of your thought processeses. that is why i play, and i always assume is a fundamental component of others' play. you will never master them, only refine them to the point of filtering the bad thoughts from the slightly better thoughts. i'm convinced i might die tonight because usually in phases where i'm not a top wolf candidate i die that same night for being "scary" and unpredictable.

but i have something i geniunely want to express to new players from a well-regarded veteran player of this game with an outlying win record, and that is: "godspeed."

godspeed. i say that term a lot, but it has nothing to do with either god or speed. it means roughly to "propser on this journey you are undertaking" and is usually used at the beginning of journeys or adventures. i say godspeed because i always wish of others and myself to confront things with "fresh eyes" or, rather, with a state of mind that always views new situations, regardless of seeming facets of repetition, as novel situations that deserve all aspects of their mental problem solving.

so... maybe you've been in a situation where a newbie VT fucked up day 1, where people seemed to be pushing bullshit agendas based off the momentum, where your major suspicions were people you didn't know how to confront, or where you knew some clear truth but had to argue against a dogged and petulant wolf to finally convince others. to that i say: godspeed.

perform, new or veteran, as though the situation is fresh, unique, novel... and give that situation the deference of perspective you would anything you are confronting for the first time. keep looking at it from different angles. more angles. different angles. do so until what you have is interesting unanwsered questions rather than a set of claims you want to make that go unrespected.

this is just a post in-case-of death which my intuition is seriously beginning to expect...
