See, even though my avenger has 180% when maxed and is based on the regular formula, it's 230% with SP and 330% when critical hits. Bad thing is that it's only straight ahead and I still need distance. Your arrow rain is 160% at max and 260% with critical. Plus it's slower than strafe (so is avenger). But yeah, I'd go with inferno over arrow rain if you were ever comparing the two. At least then it's 225% base against fire weak at max. You may party at grims later on if you have a priest friend that can survive without MG on (so either with a dk or a high level priest with hp suit and ER). I'd probably go with hawk though. :P

So, what should I leave arrow rain at? Like you said, I will probably use arrow rain just to mob, so wouldn't it be alright at just level 1 so I can max other skills? I was thinking of getting hawk when I'm at vikings so that I can stun them easier(like that one ranger vid I posted a while back). Puppet is very important, and so is max strafe... I guess I need to decide soon.

Yeah but max strafe can be delayed some as it's only 1% increase per sp after level 20, and it's already 90%.

Umm I'm not sure. The range of level 1 is small. You'll have to keep testing and seeing until you are satisfied with its range (as well as comparing to how many points you can spend in it while getting everything else you want).

Then start maxing puppet? To me, mortal blow seems very very pointless because we shouldn't even be that close to a monster in the first place, especially since we have puppet. Mortal blow would only be useful if we didn't have puppet, and maxing that earlier then strafe just doesn't make any sense. I'll just get 5 points into MB so that I can have arrow rain and then I'll go from there...

Oh.. and you basically will be maxing Strafe, Arrow Rain, Mortal Blow, Fire Eruption, and almost Hawk. I guess level 12 puppet is very good, and thrust you don't need as it's easy to get speed.... Although I'd probably get it to 15 for the time for Puppet.

Is 15 in puppet enough? Also, like I said earlier, mortal blow seems completely useless, especially if you are using stun and puppet to manipulate the monsters. You shouldn't even be using pkb or even getting close to monsters like that. I was going to get thurst to 10 because that +20 speed means that I can scroll shoes for dex instead of speed. After level 10 thrust, it only adds 1 speed, which I can get from equips (my hinkel already gives +10 speed anyways). Oh yeah, my scrolling went really crazy. My hinkel is +5 (5/7 60%) 93 att and my shoes (scrolled with 5 60% shoe jump scrolls) got 1/5.. I've got horrible luck....
Also, I was playing on squeek's priest and got him like 4% and found level 70 archer shoes at DT's... Oh, and NycJayson says hi..

From what I hear, 9 is Puppet is a enough but 12 is recommended for later on like say level 100+ monsters. So yeah, 15 would be plenty.

If you want 10 thrust, I'd take 5 more off of Hawk and 5 off of MB.

Wait, Rain's range changes with levels? It doesn't say anything about that in the description it does for explosion/mist/strike. If it's max range at level 1 and you're only using it to mob you might as well leave it that low. Fire Shot by far outdoes it damage-wise (especially if it works with critical, but I dunno about that), but the damage area for Rain is really useful for Ludi. There are tons of spots where you could snipe with it and kill things (even though it's weak, I think it'd be better to kill things slowly from a safe spot than quicker but take tons of damage), like this:



I'm pretty sure Rain has as much as or better range than Heal, so spots like that come in really handy. Also, all the explosion shots I posted before were good spots for Rain, too. Places like those just can't be hit with Fire Shot or Strafe, which is why I go back on what I said before about getting Fire Shot rather than Arrow Rain.

In other news, I've been keeping track of my damage every level since 65, and here's what I have so far:

2428 ~ 3525 to Pangs (220 mdef) at 65 (402 matk)
2471 ~ 3598 to Grupins (210 mdef) at 66 (407 matk)
2515 ~ 3648 to Pangs (220 mdef) at 67 (413 matk)
2566 ~ 3714 to Grupins (210 mdef) at 68 (418 matk)
2615 ~ 3772 to Grupins (210 mdef) at 69 (423 matk)
2720 ~ 3899 to Grupins (210 mdef) at 70 (434 matk)
(level 70 goes up by 11 matk because of shield from Chris and 5 extra points from job advance, the 6 matk increase at 67 is from the 5int seraphis from bandit)

Seems like every level my min goes up ~50 and my max goes up by ~60. I'll prolly put this in an Excel spreadsheet, and I will definitely post my difference in damage once I hit 72 and have 4 points in amp. I expect to 1hk Grupins by then, but we'll see. =P

PS - Just use the HP hat and the anakamoon there. Use the staff and the int cape. You'll still live.

Arrow rain and inferno work with critical. =D I probably won't play for the rest of spring break because I'm going snowboarding and I have tons of homework to do. Again, I'm taking a break from ms because of AP testing soon. I'll catch up to you guys over the summer.

Cam: If you've never had AP tests before, then don't worry, they're not that hard. If you're good at multiple choice, that part isn't too hard if you know the material at all. For the essays, just make sure you address all parts of the question and they're not too tough, especially if you know the material. For math short answers, if you don't know an early part, make up something so that later parts that rely on it are really easy. I suck ass at Calculus (I failed Calc3 first semester here) but I got a 5 on the AP Calculus BC test just because I've had so many AP tests that I own at them.

More MS related: Looks like eagle works with critical, too. Not that it matters much, since the damage is craptacular.

Also, Squeak, that was the first time I rounded up teddies. I was sharing the channel with a fire mage so I was just trying to kill them before he came around. I later switched to a free channel and killed the whole map so there were about 20 teddies down there. That time I switched back to normal stuff to kill them. And I guess I could have gotten away with less HP in the suit than what I was using, but I freak out when the HP drops way low, so I liked having ~200hp when I took a hit, just in case. If I dropped to <100 every hit I wouldn't have ever used SR to kill them faster, which I did without dying using the full HP gear. Not like it really matters though, since the much higher int from a DR would have helped more than occasional SRing. I just didn't wanna kill your dude. x___x

PS: 80% or so. Network lags so bad I don't even wanna play much. I need to level up again. ;__;

I got this Starchase newb on my case. Apparently working towards a mass defame.

Why, you may ask?

This morning I was fighting. She and an archer friend come in. I ask them to change channels (exact words: "Can you change channels please"). They say "we've been here for a long time and we saw you come in". Total bullcrap. Anyway, I'm like 'whatever this spot is easy to find a channel on, and you get a defame for being an asshole.' So I defame her and change channels. Then after fighting a little, her archer friend appears on my channel, defames me and says "stay there, there's more coming."

Needless to say, I got off my priest at this time, since I didn't even want to play anyway (knowing I was so far ahead of Noah). I definitely wanted my level tonight though, so I forgot about it and was doign fine.

...

I get to ~99.75% and I see someone come onto my channel. I hop down to make a face, since I don't care about them leaving, since I was about to leave myself after leveling. I find it's this Starchase person, so I change channels. She follows me. Then, she stays on 14 for a while, so I figure she gave up, but then she comes onto my channel.

So basically, I'm about to level and won't let myself because I don't want any more bogus defames on me. I liked having my fame=my level. At least I can boast of 69 fame again.

So, yeah, I think I'm going to hop on and go to platoon chronos for my last little bit of %.

Well, when I see that they have like 200+ fame, it obviously means something to them to buy so much.

But yeah, if she hunts me down and defames again, I'll just get on all my chars and hunt her down.

Anyway, I got 2 dispel. Saving my third point. If I do well, I'll get to about 99% and I'll throw the third point in dispel and get 3 HS next level. If I'm weak, I'll put that point into doom or something stupid, and get 1dispel 2 HS next level.

And anyone who brings up door will get a cap busted. I would get level 1 door right now if I could.
