the only thing i needed to select the wii was if i had wi-fi and a DS, with that you can get all the potencial of the console, i have an HD TV but again i don't really care of the graphics.

My consideration is that HD is a meaningless format-pusher.

I'll stick with SDTVs and DVDs.

Could that be because you don't have HD? If you did, I think you would appreciate it more, and Blu-Ray is capable of holding more than five times the data that a traditional dvd can hold.

Which is totally useful in turning a game that fits onto one DVD into... a game that fits five times onto a Blu-Ray disc.

Seriously, was swapping discs out that hard for the like two games of the last generation that didn't fit on one DVD?

I don't have HD because I don't feel like dropping a grand or two on a TV that'll let me see pores on someone's skin. Because I really just don't care.

I've seen comparisons between Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, and DVDs. To be perfectly honest the difference isn't worth more than $50 to me, let alone several thousand.

Well that's your choice. Other peolple might beg to differ. As for Blu-Ray, Sony plans on making massive games in the future, which will not be able to be played on any other console due to the size of the games. It's obvious that you are not one of the "die hard" gamers that think that if they have the best console that they have to have to best to go with it, which is by all means fine, but some people are like that. HD to me is a great experience, especially on the PS3, but then again I'm one of the "die hard" gamers I refered to earlier. It's all a matter of opinion, you have yours, and I have mine, which is "As constant as the Nothern Star".

JAH for the size of the games? if it doesn't fit in one CD you can divide it to other CD. so it's posible to play a big sized game in any console

For a Wii to play the max sized games on the PS3, for example, It would take about 10 disc! I don't know about you, but I'm thinking that would be a bit of a hassle. A regular dvd holds 4.7gb per disc, Blu-Ray can hold up to 50gb.

And for Sony or any third party publisher to think they can make a game that rings in at 55gb for a CONSOLE GAME and still hold interest throughout the entire endeavor, well, maybe they should succeed.

I get frustrated when games have 70+ hours of play time on 1 PS2 disc.

1 blu-ray PS3 disk? 700 hours of gameplay?

No thanks. I've got better things to do with a month.

Haha, understandable, but I'm talking potential. Also it's not only the games length that takes up the space. I mean this gives them room to do anything imaginable, this means more players, better graphics, smoother game play, eventually better online play(huge maps, massive amounts of players etc), and a lot more. It's not only about the length of the game in every case. You know?

No, what it means is that they'll leave the games uncompressed.

That's it.

Ok, even if that were the case, that would cause smoother game play.

This isn't TGB so I apologize in advance, but...

You're an idiot. Don't talk about things you don't know about like you actually do.

Well in that case, for one, for you to call me an idiot and in the following sentence use wrong punctuation, well that makes you look like the idiot. It should have been:

"This isn't TGB, so I apologize in advance, but..."

Secondly, for you to speak to me in such a manner as if you know me, and to disrespect someone that you don't even know, well that makes you look insolent as well. So now you look like an insolent idiot.

Lastly, I do in fact know what I'm talking about, believe me, I study this stuff on a regular basis.

[kw]

Oh I forgot, don't put "..." or squeek will go bananas.

more players? have you seen MMO's lately? better graphics ok that would cover half of the blue ray , smoother gameplay? ok what does the size have to do with that i can get great gameplay from a NES game. and better online play well that's a point i can't deny. but seriusly you forgot something important:

it would take years to develop a game like that. and it would cost much money for the developers. and i guess it is very hard to develop a game that covers that much

Except he used it one time. Correctly.

Uncompressed data on a disc doesn't mean it's going to be better than compressed data. Ever hear of lossless compression? That's been the general standard for years now.

All it means is that Blu-Ray discs are filled with pointless data for the sake of filling discs.
