Re: How to get better at FFR
Hey, I'm new I guess. How do I get better at Stepmania??? Is it the same things or are there different things I can do? Also I hate doing most of the songs on Stepmania on regular speed I find it 100x easier to do it on x4.(Maybe I can't get the timing :/) I can do most songs around the 160 BPM fairly easily but the tougher songs such as Neo Max really give me trouble. What do you suggest? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: How to get better at FFR
summing up how I improved:
Play every song just out of your level until you can finish it, then go and try to AAA some easy songs, then play hard ones until you pass them. When I could finish every song I played the hard ones till I improves my score, then went and did some easy ones.

lol. I've been going on for about 2 months...
I believe the best way to get better, is to take a look at the skill tokens, and aim for the ones that are in your reach! |

Re: How to get better at FFR
Use left and down key and 8 and 6 from the number pad. if you always play one handed then you'd better get used to playing with two to rise up ranks. this is a better way to explain the old practice rule. play a variety of songs to get to the rhythm, practice the slidy motions then move on to harder songs

Re: How to get better at FFR
the best way to play ffr in my opinoin is to use hot keys and 2 speed, and just keep playing songs that are a lil to hard and try to fc them

Re: How to get better at FFR
Seriously if you wanna get good quick you gotta spend a billion hours practicing. People aren't lying when they say you gotta practice to get good. My advice is start using two hands asap and play on 2x. It'll seem fast at first but you get used to it.

Re: How to get better at FFR
Well first off if you play one handed and you haven't played too long, switch to two-handed immediately since only a select few seem to have gotten real good at one hand and most of your good people use two. I tried two hand but it just made me suck so im grinding my one hand, Thank god i hardly use that hand for anything else or i would have Carpal tunnel by now :S. But anyway speedmods/screen cutting does help, i use 1.5x myself and im probably going to go up to 1.75x soon. Anyway hope that helped someone
