Head over to the FFR Batch Forum for all the details on how you can get your file into the game. The Artist Permissions forum section will help you find out if FFR has permission to use the song your file goes with.
Re: Dark Chancellor Pack 2 (ITS HAPPENING.GIF) Submissions Open
and i have to agree with kil
my one wish is that people realized stepmania is actually exactly like osumania
the person who makes a file is irrelevant because every file is objectively bad and uses objectively bad music
Re: Dark Chancellor Pack 2 (ITS HAPPENING.GIF) Submissions Open
I don't know about a name right now, I don't even know why anyone cares this much. Haven't even opened stepmania in a couple days and won't get to any new files for another day or so. Been working overnight all weekend and going to meetings and other bullshit during the times I'm not sleeping. Probably the worst weekend I've had in a long time
I'LL GET TO SHIT SOON
@GD: Which Kommisar files are released? We won't use them. This is going to be an unreleased file pack, that much will not change.
EDIT: Updated first post. 18 submissions so far. Two files accepted so far. Generally, I will accept files when 3/5 of the judges say yes to a file.
Re: Dark Chancellor Pack 2 (ITS HAPPENING.GIF) Submissions Open
I suppose I could allow files that were in packs already, but that pack would have to have bombed in reviews and must clearly not be played often. Kinda like the ODIpack 2 instance with SMGRevival Pack
This is however up to us judges. If we all agree this is alright, I'll allow some of those files.
edit: here have some reviews. I'm not done with everything but I'm going to work soon so I'll post what I have
Cruise Beat
Nice attempt at an oldschool gabber file I guess. This is probably the best of the three bullshit submissions you gave us. Weird pattern usage, you might want to make this a bit less retarded. The overlaying at parts doesn't seem too bad though, I do understand what you're trying to do with that. Pending
I'm Your Daddy
- Remove the entire thing at the very beginning. I hate when people try to step dialogue, and with the type of song this is, it feels better to have nothing at the beginning and start the chart off with the percussion and other bullshit.
- What are you putting the hands to? You seem to put hands in spots and where the sounds are the same, even one or two beats afterwards, you have jumps. Inconsistency there. (This goes for the part at m8 to m40. The part immediately after is correctly done)
- Why didn't you step the 16ths at the start of m89? It seems obvious they should go there instead of mines. Also the part from m90 to the end doesn't need to be copy paste notes. The music is the same for these parts, but that part broke the file for me. Felt really boring doing that ending. Switch it up.
This file could make it in if fixes are applied. Pending
Like A G666
Good file for 2004. Doesn't fit in a pack like this in today's world. Besides, since your 3 submissions have been the same artist/music type I'd only really want to use one file. Cruise Beat is a million times better Rejected
Shawty Wanna Fuck
It's alright. Not really a fun file though, for a shit song, the chart needs to be incredible and this isn't. Nope

whoops, I know exactly the spot, should have been a 32nd roll. Will fix that. But yeah, cool that it came out great. Also, someone had to step WEG c: Might step Bohemian Purgatory Part 3 whenever I have the chance to.

I wouldn't say that. It doesn't have mass appeal, mostly because of the song. And even it's positive qualities are not spectacular.
Anyways, doing a detailed review of your Warhead chart like you asked.
m3: You started layering the guitar 16ths with the drum 24ths. I honestly don't understand the reason for this, as this creates a polyrhythm that doesn't seem to follow either instrument. This is one of the most basic and straightforward ways of how polyrhythms lead to overlayering. Without the 16ths, it gives you more room to play with stream patterns and make the percussion feel more rich, and they're the focus of the song at that time anyways.
m5: Same idea. The overlayering takes away from it all. The song hasn't even picked up yet and it's already feeling very heavy.
m7: You have a really fun potential fill here with the toms, and when you stacked the layers of other things, you didn't really have a clear idea of what you wanted, and it just ends up feeling like lazy chordstream. The 16th right before m8 is also missing as a result because you had to make sacrifices. The toms are the focus here, so focus on following those.
m10 beat 3: There's a flam here. I recommend syncing to that flam as it'll add a touch of variation to what has been a very bland opening.
m11: I understand you're trying to emphasize the increase in intensity here, but when your chordtrill is already that massive and thick, you understand perfectly well that you have no room to layer anything else, despite the other interesting sounds going on in the background. This makes your pattern feel really lazy, and all of those things are going to be significantly more difficult to discern, and people will pretty much only hear the guitar and screaming, which doesn't make the song very fun to listen to.
m17: This section is not bad, but I recommend changing up your patterns more to incorporate the kick drum to a degree. Once the kick drum enters, your patterns don't change, and I feel a bit awkward not moving with the kick.
m25: This thickness here works, as the song is really starting to pick up in intensity. However, you ignored key fill sounds (last beat of m28) and there are a couple of errors (16th stream completely stops beat 2 of m29, so take out the 16th/32nd notes).
m29: It gets calm for a little bit as the rhythms spread out, but you under layer here and it makes it feel underwhelming, despite it being a section of only a minor drop in intensity.
m36: You totally missed the triplet rhythms here, which is a mistake that no experienced notecharter should make. Unless you were intentionally not following them, in which case you're not doing it correctly, as it doesn't feel like you're following anything, and the chord streams make it hard to discern the guitar line underneath too.
Just from taking in the tips from this first section and applying it through the entire rest of the chart, you should be able to polish at least like 70%, so I won't bother continuing.
I thought I'd be free by now but I'll be gone for another 2 days or something so I'll judge the other charts as soon as I get back.

Re: Dark Chancellor Pack 2 (ITS HAPPENING.GIF) Submissions Open
I was actually considering using one. Maybe its for the best not to
Also stargroup (and kommisar), when you can, go into a detailed review of Bodom Beach Terror. I would like that file to be perfect, and I need to know what you guys dislike about it. You can post in the thread or tell me on skype, I don't care. Already going to change the one handed 24th trills even though they fit and I like trolling people in my files.
Warning: Gundam-Dude and Izzy, you guys have until Wednesday at 10 PM to post some reviews or I'm replacing you

I essentially wanted to step that sound with hands and make it a jump in tight places to not make retardedly awkward patterns. Since it was caught in the flow I think it isn't much noticed by the player
I'll make them jumps for the section you mentioned
