Only true for someone of my skill level perhaps? If I were to sightread a similar file now, I'd probably find it boring. For the rest of the community that isn't a stepmania masochist -someone who only finds a song fun by playing it on 1.5x- the file has a ton of replay value yes. Hence why I had 'kind of' in italics lol

really nice to hear from you again midnight =) i would love a revision of transparent world!! i don't remember right now where the trill was and what stream i was referring to, but i remember long reoccuring 16th streams that had copy+pasted patterns or were completly copy+pasted to several parts of the simfile?
also regarding the discussion in here... i don't think those patterns necessarily have to be bad at all james may, that could possibly be really cool but it of course completly depends on how it plays. looking forward to your file being technical with stepping the music accurately is important and shouldn't be dismissed. it can enhance a fun file greatly, stepmania is about hitting arrows going to the music and the better you're able to represent the music the better it feels to play the file. hitting lots of arrows that you can automatically tell are exactly in sync with how the music is playing rules. the most important thing is obviously how much fun a file is to play which is subjective and decided by a lot of different things, but i think making the arrows follow the music in an accurate and obvious way for the player has a part in making it more fun to play

Lol this file is going to be 58 seconds of 130 bpm syncopated jumpjack minefield mess.
The remaining 2 minutes of the song are repetitive... 'song choice'

ok now i have sm 3.9 and everything works on it
folklore now i can play the real chart with a properly working stepmania. the beginning part rules, and it's what i like most about the file. it's not a bad file and good job with accurate stepping, but all the parts that are the most challenging in this file are all 32nd rolls or similar 32nd bursts, while just 32nd rolls aren't too amazingly fun to begin with, it gets old very quickly in a file like this when most often everything between them is so much less challenging. if the bursts were a lot shorter you could make the file flow with the bursts more like in the beginning which is really cool, but the way it is now it just gets annoying to play when it's the same 32nd bursts all the time. also there is no need for copy+pasting at all in a file like this when most of the arrows go to percussion, you can mix it up any way you want and the file would be a lot better if the patterns varied all the time. the ending climax with all the hands and stuff was a cool idea and was nice at first but it also repeats way too much. the main problem with the file is that it is not challenging in a very fun way, and since it's so repetetive it doesn't really get any better roll the track too easy and and uneventful. nice consistent level of difficulty and it is fun to try to MA but i don't think it has enough variation and/or is challenging enough rainbow rainbow it's way too easy for this pack, i'm looking for harder simfiles. even if you were to make a harder difficulty with a lot of layering it would still become just a common file i think. also extremtly inconsistent difficulty-wise with that long 24th trill adn those one-handed 24th trills. Kz(re-edit) mix haha ok i was apparently actually viewing the real edit when i was taking the screenshots lol, even though it was bugged and had 5 edits in sm 3.95. this file is hard alright lol, but not much fun at all and so much of the arrows are just completly bs haha :P narcolepsy now it's really fun! it's challenging in a few different ways that all are fun and sufficiently consistently difficult. i like the 24th jumps, like the freezes before the solo, great job on having a short part with freezses like that and then not using much freezes in the rest of the song, it makes it really fun. the solo is great and some other parts are really cool as well. it's such a difference now with the boring parts cut out of the song or cut short, it's a very varied and action-filled file now, compared to before the cut. will look at it in the editor some day soon, will be accepted.

Fixing up Mudkip a bit more before sending it. Spotted a few more errors that wasn't mentioned in your notes, and fixed up the flow in some of the 24ths. Also fixed up the part where you mentioned the 32nds -> 64th. Actually its [14]32 - [12]34 - [12]34 according to this picture:
![]() Adjusted some of the other graces later on in the file (such as the 32nds are actually 24ths and vice versa.) when listened to on 0.5x rate. Anyhow, going to see if there are anymore derp ups in the file (main chart) and will be sending it over again.

people need to stop worrying about charts being too "technical"
the positive is that you're refining core fundamentals you can always learn fancy techniques later on or go back to your creative "roots." basics are basics

tbh I'm trying to find what defines my stepping style. the closest that I have gotten to make it feel that's my definitive stepping style is this file haha. Of course I'll be refining it constantly until I am satisfied with the file, but that spot there is really bugging me because I could just scrap the 64ths & 32nds on that section to make them be freezes as it would still represent that there are a 64th and a 32nd on each of those those triplets or just go back to what I had originally, the 32nds without the 64ths, on that exact pattern. But for sake of the file, I placed it there just to see how it goes. I'll probably play it a few more times, especially that section, and change up the trills (probably change the longer trills to rolls for sake of difficulty moderation & flow). If you want, I can send the file over to you after I revise Mudkip a bit more to see what you think of it.

It doesn't matter to me though as long as they're fun. That's the basis me and Macugraveru always judged on.

I just hope files wont become too fun. No fun allowed. On that note I'd like a jolly fella to check on a file I'm almost done with and see if it's fun at all.
