Amatias - I would've taken out a lot of those miniholds. I don't think they're necessary in my opinion, as the cymbals already have dedicated triples. Overall it has the potential to be really fun, but a somewhat significant issue is the pattern choices. It's hard to explain, but it just feels kind of weird throughout. There are a lot of ways in which you have the right idea, such as the piano section, but execution falls just a bit short because you miss certain details. A lot of these issues would be almost insignificant by themselves, but here they're so prevalent it almost pervades your charting style. It could be good though, it just needs that push. I get the feeling you might want, and you should ask for, a detailed review from me. Pending
Do tell, stargrope.

@ Gundam-Dude: the 12th guitar solo is a bitch. If I layer anything else, it becomes a polyrhythm and that's problematic, hence the super simplified layering. What do you suggest? Also, I don't really hear any other changes to the solo, other than 2 12th notes becoming 16ths.

@ghakim, keep it the way it is then, it isn't a major issue.

Updated first post again including submissions (Sorry about overlooking Amatias). I don't include resubmits of course.

Insane Techniques v2
- Holy shit this is what I'm talking about. This file is great now. My only qualm is at m46 you have a simple 23 trill there, and there is more to the music than that. I'm fixing that myself because its literally only 4 notes. Doesn't warrant making the other judges download a file yet again.
Fucking accepted

Amatias
- Holding off on a review since I'm talking to stargroup on skype right now and he is doing a detailed one where I assume you'll do a bunch of fixes for.

I'm Your Daddy v2 or v3 I don't know
- Feels quite a bit better now. Though parts at m8 - m40 feel underdone now. Seems alright though
Accepted. We might look into this later to see what can be done.

April#02
- m63, missed a yellow jump
- m65 to m75 I'd like to see layered a bit more. Using triples and more jumps. I get the same underlayered feeling from m77 to m88. You're not shy to using quads but you almost never use triples. Why is that?

One suggestion I have is to turn this into a gimmick file with stops and bpm changes. I think it would fit greatly with this song, but it is a bit of work. Up to you.

Accepted pending fixes

Anything else I didn't review I'll get to tomorrow. I have to work soon.

My Time (updated) - Holy shit what. The hypersync to the little riffs throughout were cool (I didn't feel the need to pressure you to do them though XD), but that 32nd bs at the end is dumb as hell. If a judge has a problem with how it used to be just split it into two charts. I don't mind this being on a harder difficulty but you don't feel like you're playing the song anymore. Pending

Beach Bodom Terror (resubmit soon) - Long skype convo with Rebirth to fix everything. Should be infinitely better now. Waiting on the new submit.

Amatias (full review)

m6 beat 2: You have a minitrill on columns 1 and 2 going to the kick drum, but you also put the snare minijack on 1. I get that you could be trying to keep the organ on the right hand to separate it, but it happens at the cost of the left side feeling weird.
m9: Those first 3 notes are annoying to hit, because you're hitting them while holding a note on column 1. You have an open column at 3 so I'm not sure why you didn't take advantage of that.
m9 beat 2: In this section, you really don't need the miniholds on the cymbals, because you already have dedicated triples for that, and that's sufficient to make you feel the big cymbal hits.

m18 section: Okay, here's where the piano comes in.
m18 beat 4: The piano sort of goes back to its original note, and the melody kind of "lands" there. Yet you have [23] at that point, which makes the chart feel very small where it should feel big. At the very least spread it out, like using [13] or [14], if you're not gonna use triples. I recommend using triples here, as it would fill what feels like empty space in an otherwise bland section, and gives you more room to play with these chords.
m19 just before beat 2: You hear the piano melody making a leap upwards into the grace note, and yet in terms of direction you backtracked and once again used weaker pattern choices. It almost feels like you're trying to suffocate the melody. I also think that that's not a 32nd note but a 24th.
Quick comment saying that the latter half of m19 was the first part of this section that was done well, because of strong pattern usage. m20 is pretty good too. Even though you sort of went backwards briefly as the melody ascends, you did it to emphasize the broken chord, which wasn't needed since the broken chord starts from the left, but it works.
m21: The 16th before that follows the snare, I think it would be better if it was in the right hand. The blue triple in this measure I really like, but just as a personal suggestion, to make the dissonance really stand out, you could make that a quad. See if you like it, and if you don't what you have already is fine, just touch up the patterns around it. You really want the chord to knock over in to the right (since it's lower in pitch I would put it on the left, but I won't be too picky about this), but preceding this is a note on column 2, and the sharing columns makes the chord feel more stable than it actually is. At least move that 2 to a 1.
m22 beat 4: The 1[23] pattern is strange. Maybe 2[13]? Again, I think that's a 24th.
m23: That swing back in the opposite direction you did before you should do here again. Right now you're pushing the chart to the right even though you need room to do that for the big piano chord. Because you don't have anywhere to go, when you finally do hit that chord is just feels flat. And I'm also not really sure about the pitch relevance transitioning into m24.
m24: The big piano chord is on beat 1, not beat 2, so use a triple at beat 1 and not 2.
m25 beat 2: The piano chord is identical to the one right above it, but the way you presented it makes it seem insignificant. It's an important part of the melody line, and still needs to be highlighted and brought out more. Make it a triple or use a stronger pattern. The cyan following it you could probably make [14] to add in that guitar sound in the back.

m34 beat 4: why do you pick awkward patterns lol
m42: I get that you're moving the guitar around to follow the chord changes, but do so more subtly please. The chords are what is moving, not the guitar.
m52 beat 2: Layering the solo here on top of other things is probably not necessary. It's not easy to layer on top of solos in the first place, and here it's just not working. Solos are meant to stand out on their own, let them.
m56 first two beats: That pattern is just really strange.
m60 beat 2: Again, let the solo stand out, don't try to overlayer.
Later on there's yet another guitar solo, same deal.
m122 beat 3: Oddly enough, once you layered in the guitar with the piano section, it turned out just fine.

I skipped a lot of repeat sections because it's basically the same idea. You want to get an understanding of the different feel of patterns, and use them to appropriately outline the music's "shape". Directional flow is a huge factor when making keyboard charts, and that's something you need to work on.

I dunno if this review would really help get my points across, because a lot of it is a qualitative feeling that is often not really easy to describe. I try to leave it as open as possible because I don't want to be dictating your changes and/or doing the chart for you. If anything is unclear or you have more questions don't hesitate to ask.

It's not a real term I just used it as hyperbole to describe how far he went to get the sync right.

@stargrope: I fixed most of the issues you and GD addressed but I'm confused by some parts you mentioned so if you could kindly hit me up on Skype or vice versa, I could get fixes done sooner.

I wonder how many times you've used "blubbering vaginas" to justify shitty pattern choice

217 bpm trills are easy though

i meant more like every time someone calls out iffy pattern usage, you use "blubbering vaginas" as if there are players who can't hit the patterns as is
good example of this is the 24th js in apocynthion drive (which I have AA'd and I don't think you've even passed yet)

says the person who complained about one handed 24th trills. Those were only the equivalent of 218 bpm 16ths

All of you suck at one handed shit.

edit: oops was already addressed

So I need another judge because Izzy doesn't know how to open stepmania. Anyone interested?

doesn't matter

the point is, I'm not judging it based on how well I can hit it. I'm judging the chart just as I'm judging any other chart. if I see shit patterns, I point them out. your chart is not special. I think that pattern is shit. you don't actually technically know whether or not I can hit that pattern, you simply assumed something and made further assumptions that that somehow clouds my judgment of the chart as a whole

if it really came down to a matter of difficulty and me not being able to hit it I would mention it in my review and maybe even abstain from making a judgment
