Hey Tass. While we're on the subject, Vospi denied permission for both Snow Stream and Candies until he can get with a record label. He says once he re-releases them we can have 'em. Would you still accept file resubmits, and just hold them away in a special folder until that day comes (kind of like what you're doing with Banya songs?)

BUT, i was talking to the person who I found it from and he said that he cut down the music and everything, and most of the time if its a cut down sample of the music used in games or movies they don't mind.
Well at least thats what he said.
Is he right?

so.... by that logic... i could take the theme from star wars or indiana jones and cut it (since they are long songs anyway)... and then i could use it? absolutely not.

and brandon: so does that mean i can delete dan old skool from the batch? since we don't have permission for it, i'd rather not play it. i have 150 other songs to play already.

That's a gray-area of the law, I suppose, so it's up to you whether you want to make it available or not.

Very, very few people have ever even been warned about distributing short, edited versions of music with dance steps. The likelihood of you receiving the ire of the copyright holders on such a small clip is very short.

well. i feel like i'm being sensible too.... either that, or i'm being oblivious. i'll stick with the optimistic approach though. since we're now at 14/39.

14/50 now. i think i'm getting pickier. as i get more and more pissed off at having to play 150 files, i start getting angrier and angrier, and stricter and stricter.

i started off with 5/10, and it's done nothing but go down since then.

With that in mind I'm only going to step songs that start with #, a, b, c, or d.

That way my files are judged before you get pissed.



Oh, and what do you guys consider "repetitive?" If I have the same pattern going for 25 seconds is that repetitive?

Brandon: It's not that I want a Ryu's theme over, say, a Chun-Li Remix, or a new Vega version, it's just that I was thinking that diffarent songs from SF would be cool.

About Permissions: Your friend has Stepmania mixed up with the steup FFR runs. SM is free, is for home use only, and doesnt come with anything, you need the songs yourself! FFR is a website that accepts donations, has a store...so on. we need permission for FFR that isnt a big deal in SM
