New bit o' news from the PS3 camp.

Bethesda ported Oblivion onto the PS3 for yet another outlet of their fourth iteration of The Elder Scrolls. They were having problems with the port, however, because as I mentioned before, load times suck.

What do they do? They duplicate the data. More or less doubling every bit in a sequence so the read head has less work to do.

HOORAY FOR WASTED STORAGE SPACE ON THOSE OMG MASIV DISKZ

Other companies will probably take notice.

You know, if this console just stuck with DVDs, this wouldn't be a problem. It fit on one disc on the PC version and the 360 version juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust fine. Load times weren't stellar, but they weren't long enough to even use the restroom between. If this is the best you can do without wasting all that internal hard drive space, then why even bother with blu-ray?

Edit: New news.

Using third party HDMI cables voids your warranty.

I love my PS3.

2 Months with it, and no problems.
Does disconnect with the internet alot for some reason, tho I think thats just my router being gay (Comcast FTL).

the x-box 360 is wayy better then ps3
i have both, the ps3 isnt bad, its just that the 360 is just really really good.

My brother has a 360 already and the Wii dosen't interest me, so PS3 seems like the obvious choice, especially since I already have a ps2.

yeah the Wii looked kinda gay to me too..
but its sad...some of the games on ps3 look like your playing them on the ps2
like..Ultimate Alliance is one, others arent bad, just some were like a let down when you play them.
