What a strange favorite hand. My favorite hand is AA. It's the most profitable hand, and it's simple to play. I like KK, QQ and AK too. When I first started off I really liked JJ. It was my favorite hand. Mostly because I had won a lot of money with it, and hit sets and quads with it pretty frequently. Nowadays I don't like it so much, mostly because it was be hard to play it certain spots. Same with TT. Though, I have to say, dealing with the agony of TT in full ring made my reads a lot better, and I've made some of the best calls of my game with that hand.

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
Yeah i just love making a wheel. And my other is A10s because of broadway/royal
ok help me out here. This was 4 hands IN A ROW that i didnt know how to play. too many limpers. Jerry called the all in and i ended up with two pair, would have won the hand. only 2 limpers to my spot, but i was still playing it safe. Again Jerry called the all in and i flopped two pair and would have won the hand No one called here, but olivia was going all in every hand and sucking out several times. I also have bad luck with deuces (and really dont want to risk a tournament on a coin flip or worse.) This was the kind of suckouts i am talking about. Olivia really was bored i belive because she ended up giving about 90% of her stack before i was moved to a new table. I called a 3x BB raise but Olivia shoved behind me, and SK shoved so am i wrong in thinking I was beat. would have called if it was just me and Olivia, but SK had just joined the table I guess the problem with all of these hands are that, although i could try to limp in or see a flop for cheaply someone would have put me all in by the time it got around to me. I am almost never shoving unless i know a player is loose or I have something like AA, AKs KK. Last edited by ddrmaniacaaa; 02-24-2011 at 11:00 AM.. |

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
I made some of the best folds in a sequence of events in a tourney last night. I made a flush on the river, value bet and was instantly pushed all in. I folded and the guy showed a full house lmao. I made two pair on the river, a very good disguised two pair and I fold on the river because the guy made his straight. I make two pair on the turn but fold by the river because the guy made his flush on the turn...So I had some of the worst fortune this entire tourney and still got 2nd out of 90 lmao. I went heads up at a 4 to 1 disadvantage and battled to even and got it all in preflop QQ versus K10 and lost. I'll take that any day. It really helps to think of hand range and what "makes sense" and what doesn't when your opponent does something.
Definitely playing my A game. Felt like I was getting the worst fortune ever yet still profited And I probably won't be able to play any home games Saturday. |

Why oh why are you making so many games? I've counted eleven, but I don't know if any have been played yet.

ya a5 etc and the rest of the weak aces will leave you broke quick in 9/10 handed play unless you play right; limp if its suited for the flush draw or bang two pairs and get your fat value from donkeys with AK-AT. with a naked ace im calling if the price is right, but Praying to bang my two pairs on the turn. i make jacks really easy to play by playing them like sevens - tens (unless im tilted that is) - i fire out a big raise, fold 9 times out of 10 if a tight player 3 bets, and pray to flop a set. any more than hu to the fop and im almost always folding if Q k or A hit the flop. in some spots i might cbet but usually i just try to get away cheap. |

You're simply too deep to ever be calling there when SK already called the all in. He should be very strong here. AQ is about the bottom of his shoving range in this spot. Of course, as far as I can tell, you've got him well covered, and given you're ahead of Olivia's range by a mile, you COULD call and expect reasonable results, but most of the time it's better to wait for a better spot. Even then, you bust here as you can see with all of those hands, but that's the way it goes sometimes. At least with those hands the call is always +EV. Here you run about 54%, but that's near the maximum you would ever expect to run with this hand 3 way. Most of the time you'll be running around 30%, or about 18% when SK has an overpair. If the blinds were a lot higher, you'll be instantly calling here most of the time, mostly because SKs range would be way wider then, making the call much more profitable.

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
yes i did have him almost 2.5 to 1 but I rarely play a mid pocket pair more than 2 handed, especially with the tourney on the line.
Also, 2nd Ticket won 2 days ago to The NAPL rookie division ($500 prize pool) so well see if i can master the people who apparently only play limit hold em. And, I finally snagged a ticket to round 2. Only 2nd Omaha Hi/Lo freeroll I have entered and I squeezed a top 20 place out of 9,000 entrants. Not bad since apparently I play "loose aggressive" |

I think I have a loose aggressive reputation as well but I honestly don't know. You'd have to ask around lmao.

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
Loose aggressive can be a profitable playing style, so it's not a big deal. You just don't want to be a passive player.
I'd say playing tight aggro is more profitable at the lower stakes, mostly because there are more passive players, but against better players, loose aggro is as profitable or more so than playing tight aggro.

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
Me too man ;(
Ran one of the weirdest sessions I've ever played lately. Played only some 1000ish hands of 0.25/0.5, ring + rush, and went from being up like 300 to down over 500 to ending about down 100. Won a ~200 dollar pot near the end of the session, set over set over set on the flop, which helps my deficit a lot, but just earlier I was getting coolered pretty hard for 3/4 of the session, since the +300 to -500 happened via nearly continuous losses. I should have lost more, actually, like three times people checked hands that should have stacked me after sucking out (turn/river trips or stuff against overpairs) That session just about gave me a heart attack, so I think I'll play some play money for the next little bit 8) Goooooo home games.

couldnt hit a flush draw. raised the button to $7 total with 79clubs 5 handed $1/2. flop 8JK, bb (only caller, nit....) leads out $10 i call, turn Tclubs puts the 8 and ten of clubs and gives me a straight. he bets $11 i raise $30 more, he ships it Instantly and i snap call he shows Ace ****ing King rivers a naked queen Wow thats fun when youre stuck $400 playing a $450 dollar pot |

I usually don't complain, but in that session I fired on all of my straight and flush draws, and the only draw I made the entire 1062 hand session was a straight draw on the turn, which got stacked when villain hit a backdoor flush on the river. lol There was also some guy that was playing obnoxiously bad the entire session, but stacked me 3 or 4 times with suckouts, as well as other people, and he had a huge stack. In the last big pot with him, I raised his limp 3x on the button with KQ, only he calls. Flop K84, he check calls my bet. Turn K84Q, he check calls again. River K84QA, he shoves out of position over 3x the pot. I'm not actually sure what the best line to take in this spot is given I know this guy is an idiot, but I call and he shows A8. I might have folded to other players, but earlier he jammed a pot against me with middle pair and only like 9%, but hit the river. Among other things, like 4 betting me OOP with K2 and beating my AK. Also, Omaha = lol. I played some sessions today for fun, ran up a good amount and then lost it all. In no other game can you run QQ on Q88 board into someone with 88 twice in the same like 200 hand session. Anyone watch Isildur play? God damn retard was up over 700k earlier tonight. Most of it seemed to be from scott palmer. He's still up about 200k, but is donating pretty much all of his wins to gavz. I'm sure he doesn't mind though. It's nice to become a millionaire overnight.
