Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
I guess I should point out the general breakdown of the types of people out on FFR:
About 80% of people on FFR rarely post or do not post on the forums and probably would not care either way what happens. They play casually and recognition from others is hardly important. About 18% of people on FFR post on forums and may range from a beginner to very decent at the game. They would most likely oppose the idea of an FGO token. About 2% of people on FFR post on forums and are extremely good at the game. They would most likely agree with the idea of a an FGO token. So people in the latter two categories would care more because they it's the 20% of the community that would actually give personal recognition and make them feel better about it in terms of personal achievements. If 80% of people don't even post here and just play for fun, maybe you can get a sense that recognition should be a complementary reward rather than a necessity. That's how I think of it - I'm not really worried if there's a new token that most people can't get. Last edited by bmah; 08-1-2009 at 01:42 PM.. |

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
Read my previous post, I've added a little more. And I said that it's about maybe 20% of FFR members who post on the forums (and hence would give recognition by posting here and say "good job"), and the rest anonymously play on their own, or do not post on the forums. I did not say that 20% of people would accept this token.

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
okay this is stupid for multiple reasons
1. otaku speedvibe is not a fun song to begin with 2. for the idiots who think number 1 is subjective, otaku speedvibe does not generate a fun chart 3. for the idiots who think numbers 1 and 2 are subjective, the edit difficulty is stupid. there isn't supposed to be a difficulty above oni, edit is only there for EDITING. you're taking a technical part of stepmania and you're making become this. just make a completely different file 4. you can't really make otaku speedvibe any harder than it already is without making it complete bs 5. we don't really need this token in the first place. people will whine that they can't get it and more drama will ensue. effort just isn't worth it. people who do become this good will naturally play more. but, this is the weakest of the reasons I have listed, so if really necessary you can ignore this 6. isn't the point of ffr to try and stay away from being like sm? if you put in heavy oni and edit then what is the difference between these two games besides mods and timing windows 7. THINK ABOUT THIS. IS THIS REALLY A GOOD IDEA

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
I want to support too.
But I agree that it would be better with another song, and not Otaku Speedvibe, otherwise, it's not going to be a reward, something fun and worth the effort, just a symbol of status.

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
Right, mhss1992?
We should totally support a different FUN song for another [Oni] or [Guru] token Like say Vertex Delta |

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
You know... I'm tired of vertexes, they are too similar, I was thinking something more like Lawn Wake XI.

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
We mean a NEW song for a NEW token with NEW steps for AAAing a GURU difficulty song.. or some different requirement.

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
Actually, the long vertex gamma from Silvia could be a good idea. Vertex delta and vertex gamma (hulk style) are just sped up versions of vertex beta.

Re: Otaku Speedvibe [EDIT]
or people are bandwagoning because it's stargroup
pretty sure every single one of those points has been brought up and addressed prior except for the ffr vs. sm one but lets face it the more ffr differs from sm the more people just ****ing play sm instead rofl |

also about the last statement, this was similar to my argument a while back, except someone said something like "there will always be people who play ffr and not sm" which I never understood why you would say that duh it's obvious but irrelevant so as much as I prefer ffr to be independent, some things just need to be copied from sm because they are the basis of how rhythm games work, and you can't really avoid that when both game have the exact same play method
