*edit*

Downloading and will play the file. After I'll do so, I'll leave comments in this thread then tell you what I think you should step (if anything)

*edit*

Congratulations, you have met my expectiations for that file. It sucked big time.

0.25/5- First of all, learn to adjust the gap. It was off by -54ms. Very noticeable. Learn to layer, seriously. Parts feel empty and awkward, as well as boring, as a result. Technical accuracy. Where can I begin? It was not present whatsoever; you had 16ths where there should have been 12ths; you started and ended rhythms incorrectly. Jump placement was pretty lame. Hold usage sucked and was inconsistent, as well. Sometimes you had holds to longer guitar notes, etc. when you shouldn't have and sometimes when it worked you were inconsistent with it throughout the file. Jack usage was also bad and inconsistent. Very very few of the jacks fit with the song (pitch relevance and accuracy). One-handed 24th/32nd trill (dont remember which, probably 32nd) when it easily could have been something else. Congratulations, you created another reason for why people wouldn't enjoy the file. Just plain inconsistency. You often switched around what sounds you were stepping at times- NOT A GOOD THING TO DO. Pitch relevancy errors. Pretty clear. The 0.25 out of 5 I gave you results from a couple of parts with surprisingly accurate pitch relevancy for a couple of seconds as well as having arrows in your file. Poor transitions from one part to another. The song has pretty decent ones, and so should you to follow with it. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here since these are most, if not all (might have forgotten), of the major errors that are in this file.

tl;dr - this is worse than the average DF sim congratulations

don't even THINK about dream theater for a long, long time.
Wow. Well first off regarding the transitions: considering that the drums were frequently present at the same time as the guitar, my layering couldn't be consistent. That's simply impossible. The transitions between the two were as fluent as the song permitted IMO. Obviously you disagree. I don't really know what you mean by pitch consistency. I made an effort to consider it at all times. And yes, the jack usage is inconsistent. Take the intro for starters: I converted those jacks to triplets while I kept the longer ones at the end. I prefered the flow that way. I also must disagree regarding the 12ths. Sounded like 16ths to me.

I've played quite a few DF sims, and to say that it's quite below average is inarguably incorrect.

Whatever though. Consider that my last sim.

Well I'll look at it again. Perhaps I was so certain they were 16ths I neglected looking into it further like all the other sections.

true, he's not amazing but he does have some potential to make a few decent sims if he got better. when I completely bash someone it's only because they're a complete idiot and will never ever make a half-decent piece of crap. this guy isn't one of them.
Umm... Thanks? lol Well hey like I've said before I'm open for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I'm gonna forget about DT for now cuz obviously I'm having trouble with just DF. Now after I correct the beat offset and those 12th notes, what should I do? I really did try to be careful with my layering. Like I've said before, it can't always be consistent if you include the drums since if you "overlayer" guitar sections with the drums it would detract from the guitar (which I thought was more fun than just 16th streams).

I know what to do with some of those jacks. A few I'd like to keep. I love those 2 note jacks near the intro, but I did overdo some sections no doubt.

Also regarding the jumps: I tried to pay attention to pitch relevence by putting higher notes towards the right and lower notes towards the left.

So what needs to happen? What's the correct beat offset for starters?

you can still do the same pattern you had with the 16th, but use 12ths instead.

Same pattern but with 12ths: so it'd be LLDLL, etc. since the jacks obviously start on the 4th notes?

Is this accurate?:

It was by Patashu. I haven't tried it yet though. I thought I remember hearing the jacks starting on the 4ths.

So they're all 12ths then, correct? Also, doesn't the jack start on the 4th note (unlike the pic)?

the 16th part is there

it's 12ths interspersed with slightly faster bursts which sound roughly 16th speed

LLLDLLL go up and down LLLDLL 16th part LLLDLLL go up and down etc
and no the jacks do not both start on 4ths, the second 4th in each measure separates both jacks

N.T.M.- I hate saying this, but trust me, I know what I'm saying. Your layering was very inconsistent, and often you weren't layering in the file at all. Look- if the guitar is like 16ths or something and the drums are 16ths, it doesn't mean you shouldn't layer or something like that. You can follow main beats from the harmony or the rhythm or the lead guitar or something. I don't remember what it was like too well. Also, the transitions didn't have to do with the layering.

Perhaps it was those 16th that mislead me. And thanks a lot man for helping me out. I appreciate it!

Like I said in the description, I know it was inconsistent. You'll see I'll layer the drums with the guitar, but once the guitar gets more complex I'll switch JUST to guitar. What should I have done? If I included the drums all the time things would look very sloppy IMO and it'd be tough to "feel" the guitar.

Also, is the beat offset -02.0? Or what was it you said it was, Patashu? I forgot. You're certain, right?

Oh and I'm gonna go delete the sim right now until it's better. And those jacks at the end are gonna be configured kinda like Omegaspike's TTFAF intro if you know what I mean. That'd be better.

I am for now. Besides with such a great amount of skittle notes I bet the DDream program (or whatever it is) would be required in finding the correct steps.

lol well thanks! I'm sure it's not really that easy though.

Well I revised my DF sim. I fixed the beat offset (thanks, Patashu!), added the 12ths, and converted those jacks at the end into trills like TTFAF. This IS NOT the final version though. I'm still gonna change a few things.

Regarding the 12ths: you really have to listen carefully at parts cuz it almost sounds like nothing's there. Also, there aren't any 16ths in there IMO.

Regarding the just-added 24th trill near the intro: it's VERY hard to hear, but it actually is 24ths. There are two sounds layered on top of each other. There's an 8th note gap, then 24ths.

Link (again, not finished): http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=25046

Step chart: http://www.bemanistyle.com/parser/ge...g=1&note=type2

Parts still need to be improved, but still big improvement.
