it appears everybody agrees that PUI is harder (especially if you're used to DDR), but why is it supposedly "superior" to DDR?

It's not superior, nor is it inferior. You can't compare two different things, so what if they're dancing games? They both use different panels. This is like comparing FFR to Stepmania. Everyone argues about which is better but in the end, they're two different things that shouldn't even be compared with eachother. It's true that PIU is definitely harder than DDR, but that doesn't make it 'better' than it.

well, maybe one has cooler features than the other, idunno. i've only played PUI a few times, and i didnt know anything about it, same way i used to not know how to get to the options screen in DDR. but somebody said PUI was superior, and i was just wondering why some people say that.

I think it all depends on which one you play first, because they are the exact opposite of each other. I'm awesome at DDR, but suck royally at PIU. On the contrary, I have a friend who owns at PIU, but is horrible at DDR. It's all about preferences.

I have played it u idiot its 10 times harder theres some songs with 4 beats at the same time or so ive heard but its definately harder. that don't make it better cuz its certianly not as popular as DDR but it is superior in difficulty.

Anyways, whatever, there's not really much to discuss because the entire idea of 'which is harder' is based on personal preference. Those who did DDR first will think PIU is harder, and vice versa. There's really no discussion about it. This thread should've been locked ages ago. I really haven't a clue where the hell Arch0wl is. I've already PM'ed him about this.

Novacaine is a frickin idiot. He just joined last month! So why should seniors like ourselves argue with that n00b anyway? Anyway I've seen and played both PIU and DDR. Its like Healing Vision said. They are two different versions of step games. Sure in some ways PIU is better than DDR. And in some but probably all the time DDR is better than DdR because its interface is simpler making the game more enjoyable. The only tin PIU has going for it are the extra panels. Whoop!
