hahaha ok here is my "done in 30 min" little wip. Interesting stuff. I found a cool sound by modifying the gameboy. And a switch to 6/8 time just because :P. Check it out.
http://www.djsbx.com/projects/mpthing.mp3 Hmm.. interesting entries.. either I just need to clean these samples up.. or.. strange. How do you get the bass note to sustain for so long? unless your opening up the wav and stretch it out manually. Last edited by DJSBX; 03-18-2008 at 06:38 PM.. |

The only way to really 'lengthen' the bass is to add release/reverb. Pretty sick entry btw. I like where you're taking that. :P Anyway, here's my 'finished' entry (I might add more to it). I might make another song also if that's allowed. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/131289

Thread updated with new entries
Inorder to extend notes, I just hit notes consecutively and use effects like "sliding" to blend them. A low octave is great for that. Distortion also works with extending. And please, though they were cute, no more youtube posts. I want this all about the contest, baby ;D My 360 bpm song amuses me, but I know its not going to win. New effect trick for real sounding open HH, Distortion + Metallic Reverb on star set at high octave, low octave if you want a ride/crash cymbal Oh and no entry is final until the end of the month, notice how I changed mine ![]() |

Oh you guys need to hold the notes? Just add loop points, as shown in my little ditty that I completely hate:

Nope. Contest ends at the end of the month, and there's no signups or anything.
Edit: Holy **** iPatch this is amazing. Also, I completely forgot about loop points. >:

There are a couple applications that allow you to set loop points, also I used a VST called directwave to do it myself.

Thread updated.
I play SIU more often than FFR, so I doubt someone wants my 120-odd credits. @NetJet! This forum moves far too slow for a set sign up date to be convenient. I want as many entries as possible, so I might even postpone the contest ending day depending on how many entries we have. Last edited by Calcium Deposit; 03-18-2008 at 08:51 PM.. |

This sounds interesting. If I get around to it I'll try and make my own.
~Bynary Fission EDIT: When does the contest end?
