Eva, the "pre-release" you mention was actually the official opening. I don't know why, but they moved back the official release date and time to 8 PM on May 24th. Not everybody would've been able to make that, and my crew figured that the midnight showing would be more fun anyway.

I really can't wait to see this one. Dead Man's Chest was kinda whored out, plus I wasn't expecting this movie to be released so quickly. Of course I'm not expecting any problems with the movie, but 3 hours? Well, it is the final one.

No, really? Well, I'll just have to wait and watch the movie in its entirety.

Make sure you watch until the end of the credits.

I disagree; it's a really pointless scene.

The whole theater pretty much booed and complained for being told to sit though the credits to see such a trivial scene.

...

You are kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding. Even me, who tends to be really dense when it comes to movies, knew that was a very relevant scene.

It was overheard in our theater, "This better be fu**ing worth it at 3 a.m!". I thought it was a cool little way of wrapping up an end.

Kinda like the ending of the first movie, in a way.

I'd appreciate it if no one posted what's at the end of the credits. I'll see for myself if it's trivial or not.

Just be careful of what you read. The movie was great. Some girl got mad because they were checking tickets so she had to go find them. I guess it was her first 12am showing of any show.

No really, it is still a good idea to stay until after the credits. I think it really might change your opinion on whether or not the they will make another one.

Btw, saw it last night. Simply amazing. If you pay attention the whole time, there is a lot to pick up on.

I think what they did was they made the movie to have closure in case they couldnt make another one but still put in a few things to open up for a new one if they do make it.

I thought it was excellent. It made up for the terribleness of the 2nd one. Everything that I wanted to happen, happened, minus the "plot twist".

I noticed Jack's role was diminished, which was good. He was never meant to be a main character, just the wildcard that mixed things up.

I didn't know about the scene after the credits, anyone care to tell me what it was?

Oh man. I need to get a screen cap of that face she made. So good. So. Good.

Seriously, this installment was the perfect summer movie. Relatively mindless, lots of action. Lots of humor. Stunning to watch (that night scene with the ship floating on top the ocean reflecting back the stars...most beautiful cinematic scene ever).

ps. I didn't see the second film....so I went into this kind of blind. Still enjoyed it. It doesn't work entirely as a stand alone film, but you don't need to see the previous films to enjoy it.

Keira Knightley's speech before going to war at the end reminded me of LotR and as she was screaming things like "for __________" I screamed "FOR THE SHIRE!" and my friend and I started cracking up.

Althought partially the theatres fault, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I would have thought I would. Would have much rather seen it at the place with comfy stadium seating but there was a big head on collision and we got stuck and couldn't get there in time.

Anyway, uh I really liked the second one so I'll be the first to say this one wasn't as good

Seemed a little dragged out IMO. Not to mention uber confusion because I couldn't hear what they were saying half the time but I think that was the soundsystem >_> God, why did I go see it there XD

It was still pretty good anyway.
