To be absolutely honest, I'm kind of appalled at the number of people who are acting like the real file is great >_> Still haven't played it, but I could crank out 10 stream files in an hour if I wanted to. So could anyone. Stepmania sucks. I'm not sure if ranting is making me feel any better, or if it's just making me more depressed rofl

Shash, I really do think you were on to something with your news story. There should be a file in FFR that's at least a challenge just to pass.

I agree with you. There isnt any song on here that a person cant mash their way through without a prob. It would be cool if there was a song hard to pass, let alone do good on.

I realize that's the mindset here on FFR, but I can't get past this myself. The SM community came out of its period where everyone went nuts for these files a long time ago. Mostly everyone was sick of them by then. I apologize for making a kinda big deal out of this, as I'm obviously a minority here.

I'm listening to the mp3 right now. Beyond :39, there's nothing playing 16ths. The cool-sounding high-pitched noise (don't really know what to call it) that was playing at 16ths is now playing out what would make weird gallop patterns. The quiet hi-hat is really quiet and shouldn't be stepped to. It kinda sounds like 16ths, but it sounds like it's a bit chopped up and would make 16ths with a break once in a while, and maybe a 32nd triplet every now and then. It's playing at pretty random intervals. So yeah, I'm not hearing what 16ths could go to. I know they fit, but they don't really go to anything :P

yes, the SM community is not taken into account at all when we decide what to put in FFR, considering most of them think FFR is terrible anyway and that SM is 1337

as for the 16ths they sound like they ought to be there so I put them there, they feel right

you know as well as I do that this file would be beyond terrible if someone tried to do a "techincally accurate" version

What makes a stream "indexable" anyway? I could never figure this out, the stream seems pretty generic to me.

there are others that involve trills but you get the idea
