3, 4, and 6 are great. Obviously, with the extremely detailed hair and realistic face, 6 is the best.

May I ask how you got the hair effect in the final piece? It looks incredible.

For the most part it was drawn strand by strand, and the small highlight details were done by rolling a kneaded eraser into a small point, and then dobbing it in charcoal shavings, which lightened the hair miniscule amounts, giving it a pretty decent light refractal property, the hair took about 10 hours to do, and was in ONE sitting.

I have a few pieces in color, but it is in no shape or form my medium of choice.
I have a few decent water colorings, and a pastel or two, but I don't like them all too much, I would much rather continue on with my charcoal and pencil work, because I'm not all too fluent in the blending of colors, which usually results in an off-toned mess, and I like being able to erase my mistakes. xP

I didn't see this before, but I agree. I do the same kind of thing, I don't really enjoy working in color. I've always done better in black and white, it's much more simple. I really need to work on my coloring effects and all.

Speaking of black and white drawings, I think I'm actually going to color this one for some practice (drew the b+w version in about 15-20 minutes in an English class one day)

@darkshark: the last piece is amazing. even if it's hard to become a well known artist. please consider utilizing that talent.

usually i dont say nice things because i'm a dick but that is damn good art.

I started the outline in an Ebony pencil and then I did all of the coloring in colored pencil. Used a ****load of my black pencil up.

Jurs, that's 2nd one is nice;

Darkshark how good the hair looks in the self-portrait baffles me. That's so incredble how realistic is looks... and the mouth & lips are incredible too. Also that eye in the 4th one blows my mind as well. Keep it up!
