Besides the fact that practically nothing I use is compatible with a Mac (or if it is, it's slow as hell(see: microsoft office for mac)), I'm not a graphic designer, so iLife can suck my balls

The only thing Macs are good for is Quark and other visual editing.

For practical use, Windows supports the most apps.

[quote=AutumnSkyline;1037139]I switched to mac and I have to say I will never go back. [quote]

I can't believe someone hasn't said this yet:

ONCE YOU GET MAC, YOU NEVER GO BACK.

But in all seriousness i'm a PC girl. I just don't like Mac. Whenever i use a Mac i feel uncomfortable, i guess that is what happens when you grew up only using PC, just cna't get used ot the way Mac's work.

EDIT: Also i know this is old but needs to be included in this thread somewhere.

Oh. OK. I'll just go and play PC-exclusive games on a console right now...

Macs are good for people who don't actually plan on doing anything with their computer. Me? I actually use it for things.

You're 14, right? Wow, you REALLY do a whole lot on your computer, like look up porn and play video games; maybe talk with your friends online. Sounds really cool. When you actually want to start doing marketable things, like, oh, digital media (sound, video, graphics), you can grow up and get the higher end computer.

PS computer games are a waste of time and are for losers; the only good ones are the arcade-style ones, which you can get for any system.

I dunno, to me, a Mac has always seemed like a "n00b" computer, like something you'd get for your grandma.

I'm happy with the 599 I spent on my Toshiba. It does everything I need it to and play WoW. That's all I need.

Hahahahahaha. Quit acting like you know what I do on the computer. You don't.

About 30 minutes ago I quit out of Photoshop after working on an art project I've been doing for 2 hours straight.

Here's a list of computer programs that I use for digital media. I use all of them (although I don't use Director MX much, that's my mom's).

Macromedia Flash
Director MX
GIMP
Adobe Photoshop CS
Adobe Illustrator CS
Softimage XSI (Not available for Macs)
Jeskola Buzz (Windows exlusive, last time I checked)
FL Studio (Windows exclusive)

And I plan on getting 3ds Max next year when I join my school's robotics team (3ds Max is Windows exclusive AND one of the leading 3D graphics programs on the market).

That list also excludes what I'd consider unprofessional programs such as Sibelius and Noteworthy Composer.

Touhou games = PC Only

Also, completely subjective. "Waste of time" and "for losers?" Your opinion on them doesn't change the fact that the number of games available for Macs is limited. Even then, I don't usually play games on the computer. About 4 hours a school week at the most.

what's with this "macs don't play games" ****, the new intel macs can all play the latest games and under bootcamp can play games only available on windows platforms. Macs ARE PCs now, the only difference is better design, and the ability to use mac os x.

Unless Macs use the exact same coding as Windows then this is untrue. Sure maybe the "top games" on the market are also designed for macs, but not everything made for Windows can be played on a Mac unless it's made for it.

PS I just noticed--you know what's really ironic? Fish called my post a "piece of blindness" yet he's making a presumption on what I do when I'm on the computer with absolutely no evidence other than my age wahahahaha.

I meant a Mac running under Windows XP using bootcamp can play games only for windows. This thread never said mac vs. windows. it's "mac or pc". mac's run both windows and mac osx natively. PCs do not.
