We should have a thing were we elect a new mod or two
but only people that joined on a certian date (say August 15) or before that can elect people(other than themselves). then everyone that joined after the said date can only give votes for people already elected. (just a thought) or we can have some other way of electing mods

For awhile, it was really really bad...the flaming and spamming was just plain unbearable. But it has gotten a lot better.
New mods would be cool though. |

hm.. well.. its all a matter of opinion.. im sure there was a reason i locked something you didn't agree with.. i mean i wouldn't of done it for now reason.. but.. it doesn't really matter now..
Back to topic.. FFR is alive and kicking.. the problem is people leech off the site just to play the game.. but then they don't join the forum... We just need more of those people to stop being leechers and start contributing to the community... but i guess for an average of 52.79 users a day.. if we just got 3 of those to join in on the forum, we would have made an extra of 1095 forum participaters a year.. the question is.. how big do you want FFR to get?

i'll agree with whoever said it that a majority of the new topics (at least in chit chat, ffr chat and suggestions) are completely worthless. but, for the most part, i think thats a good bit of the reason the forums are here... for people to talk about worthless stuff, take a load off their mind, laugh, and flame idiots. but the forums are not dying. almost everytime i come here (and i'm here A LOT, college is more boring than you think) there are a few new threads to check out, as well as new posts in older threads. sure, we are acquiring more idiots, but along with the idiots come some intelligent posters... sometimes. and the idiots usually come around after a while. i predict the forums will continue to grow.

I think posting for your first time in a new forum (unless you are well known) is kinda scary, and besides would you seriously want 1000 more forum users? Spam would be uncontrollable

not uncontrollable... just very hard to control. with more mods and such, it wouldnt be that hard. there would just have to be specific rules that people had to adhere to, and those rules would have to be enforced.

I don't really think the forums are all that bad. Yes, there's the occasional spammer (Oink, anyone?) and the hacker (AO...) and the retard (Emo_Preppykid) but beyond that, its not that bad. And I don't really think they're dying either. As long as every day there's a few new topics, it seems to keep up.
