ff7 is a bit over rated, however its production values, plot, and general care toward its making revolutionized the genre. So, while it may be over rated, it certainly isn't complete crap. And 99% of rpg players will agree.

Honestly, I didn't think FF7 was the most amazing game ever, even when I was playing it for the first time in 97. I found FF8 to be much more than 7 was in ever possible aspect. However, FF7 did revolutionize the RPG genre and broke RPGs into the mainstream, a crappy game could never have done that. I'll admit, the story does have loopholes and things left unexplained, but i'm sorry, if you can't handle a story unless it's completely and utterly finished/explained/worked, then you have no imagination whatsoever and should probably get that checked out. Not explaining everything leaves stuff for fans to discuss during and after playing the game/reading the story. The same thing happened with Evangellion, no one could accept a completely open ending, and they called it shit. So they ended up making movies to fill in and "explain" for the people who need to have things concrete or their heads explode.

That's a whole other topic though. Anyways, everyone knows that Moogy tries to be badass; it's old news. If he thinks something is shitty, let him think something is shitty... it's not like he's ever created something that wasn't shitty...

lol I have to agree with moogy. The only reason people love FF7 so much is becuz they played that one first. I played FF9 first and thought it was the best ever but then played all the rest to find out they are all equally good. Some were more confusing than others but still all out good. Also, if sum1 STILL can't beat a boss from a like 10 year old game, then just put it away....

P.S. SMRPG Roks!! Got through that thief in the beginning in like 6min of starting the game =)

I could make a video of a halfway decent no-death speedrun if only there wasn't one problem, everytime nowadays that I get to the coral prison, when you have to ride in the races to escape and win your freedom, well for some reason it never allows me to start that race, it freezes, or doesn't register anything, I've tried looking for a patch, then got bored and uninstalled it, that was about 2 years ago.

Also, I don't really have a few hours to spend at one time on the computer at the moment, those times won't arrive until summer.

Many people say they don't like this game. Many say they think its the best game ever made. Personally, I agree that it is one of the best games, but, opinions can be a bit rash. But, Final Fantasy VII was the #1 best seller in all of Square Enix's games, thats why theyre working on it alot. For instance, the Advent Children thing, the re-make in ps3, and they might be making a sequel game to Final Fantasy VII, just like they did to Final Fantasy X.
