No, actually I've heard rumors that once the PSP sells a million copies, the price will go down.

I don't see the PSP succeeding yet. I doubt I'll buy one, and I don't have much faith in it. The stupidest move on their past was using mini-discs. A 3-hour battery life is never good. I had a bit of a discussion with an employee at my local EB two days ago to see how successful they were at selling the PSP.
Me: "So, have you sold out of all your PSPs yet?" EB Guy: "No, in fact, four people came in and cancelled their preorders." *points to line of PSPs on floor* Me: *sees seven unopened PSPs* "Wow. Any reason why?" EB Guy: "They said they either didn't have enough money or changed their minds." Me: "Hm. I'm kind of a DS fan myself. I think it has a lot more capabilities than PSP." EB Guy: "Yeah, the DS has the innovative multiplayer and the touch screen..." Me: "Well, what about the PSP?" EB Guy: "Well, the graphics are nice..." Me: "The thing that probably scares me most is the battery life." EB Guy: "Yeah, a three-hour battery life isn't good. And the movie capability is a non-issue, because nobody is going to feel like rebuying their movies to play them on the PSP." That's about it. If it's the same everywhere else in the country, chances are the PSP is going to see success between the N-Gage and Game Boy Advance.

even if i had a psp, i don't think there's any movie that i would prefer to watch on a psp than at my house, on my nice tv, with my nice surround sound...so yeah, and i don't feel like blowin 20 bucks buyin the same movie...i just wished sony had left ALL of that extra stuff out. made it soley for games, with that great screen...and kep the price below 200

theres alot of intresting defects that alot of users are getting on their PSP it almost seems like it's a lottery to get a PSP that doesn't have something wrong with it. Nearly evreyone I know has had at least a few dead pixels on theirs.
Sometimes the UMD slots don't work. Sometimes theres dusts and scratches on or under the screen and what makes me lol alot is alot of people are also getting wavy lines under their screens that look like curly hair. Maybe the devolpers were getting a haircut. Although it doesn't look like a hair from the head and more like a hair from down below, People now refer to this defect as developers pube hair syndrome. I'm pretty much going to wait a while before I even think of getting a PSP because with all these defects people are getting and rarely getting one without defects, I think the chances of getting a defectless PSP is low. We really know that they have a huge dead pixel problem because they have had so many returns for them that their not returning them no more. Sony have never been good for first release hardware though things usually go wrong until a couple of new models. I am also hoping for a huge price crash because it costs a little too much for it to be worth while for me. I think I'll just wait for these things =P |
