Oh man...I still love that game, even if it is old. Sephiroth is still the coolest FF villain ever created. And one thing you must NEVER do. Go to Google and type "Tifa"...My eyes burned.

Kefka. Kefka is mucho better IMO.

And yeah, FFVII... used to like it, would probably play it again. But some of the storyline... eh, could be better.

I must say though, those blocked hands are pretty damn funny though...

FFVII effectively destroyed the old style of FF which did nothing other than produce a string of amazingly superior games. FFIV FFV FFVI, Chronotrigger, i rest my case. So people who liked VII will liked all the newer ones, and the people who remember what a real game is will mock them incessantly.

As for Square-enix licensing with microsoft to make an RPG, I don't know if that is something I want to hear, only because of the fact it is non-japan. As a nation, they play RPGs a lot more, and catering more to Americans usually means dumbing up the story. And for it being a Sony thing, wtf Chromer? Sony stole Squaresoft from Nintendo when it launched the playstation line.

You know, that reminds me of the real reason of why Square left them... Nintendo's fatal mistake so long ago...

When Nintendo decided to go with cartridges for the N64, Square wanted no part in the horrible costs, and opted for Sony's cheaper discs. Plus, Square's RPGs wouldn't have fit on one cartridge anyway, and there would've been no simple way to transfer info if they made multiple cartridges for one FF game anyway. So, they opted for Sony, and it was probably a good choice at the time... however, I'd like to see them back with Nintendo now. Remember Super Mario RPG? That Square partnership did wonders.

I'm sorry but Kefka gets my vote for gayest FF character of all time. That damn gay laugh still haunts my dreams. However, Seymour was a lot cooler than Kefka was.

Anyway, I don't see what the big ype is about FF, and I mean for all there games. I played the first one, it sucked. The second, sucked. I played Seven, because everyone said it was the best. Sucked. I haven't played X or X-2 yet becaues im afraid its just going to let me down. I would much rather play Chrono Trigger or Jade Empire, than any FF. If there is a FF you people think I should try, that I already haven't, tell me. I'll tell you what I think about it.

Well, yah, any FF game, when compared to Chrono Trigger, is absolute crap. As for Jade Empire, I haven't played that one yet, so I dunno...

Final Fantasy Tactics > Most other games

But, for the most part, FF is crap. FFT is the only good game in the series (and what a good game it is). And don't even get me started on how much FFTA sucks.

Okay, lemme explain why FFTA sucks.

First, you have one of the greatest games ever made, which I have played for thousands of hours and have an entire memory card dedicated to, FFT.

Now, take this game and strip away everything that made it what it is. Take away the JP, the speed-based battle system, the fantastic plot, the incredible music, everything. Now take what you have and water it down some more. Now you have FFTA.

It's even worse, because FFT fans have wanted a sequel since the game came out, basically. And instead of a game in the true spirit of FFT, they give us some watered-down crap for the GBA.

They basically took one of my favorite games and took away everything that makes it what it is. I suppose FFTA is a good game by itself, but I can't stand to play the BS that Square thinks is a viable sequel to FFT.

If you want a good GBA SRPG, try Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis. It is quite good, although rare, being an Atlus game.

i dont consider tactics to be in the same catergor, since it really isn't like the others, they just hooked on the FF name to it.
