You can buy most of the spells by going through the bridge, killing the troll, and asking the witch for her two grimoires.

Easiest way is to get leather gloves from the shop and making it into a Red Glove (Random Fireballs) by the wishing well for putting a chocolate bar into it.

They look like these in the shelfs when you get to the area:

EDIT: I forgot to mention: You need lollipops. You /buy/ them.

edit: doubt it's possible to go much further, they dont give you gold and you just die from not being able to refill your health.. (enemies were looping too)

I beat it by I'm still missing two items? (one's for the first locked house I'm assuming, the other one might be something stupid in the sea idk)

there's no key for the first house apparently. googled it and there's no way to open the first house except by messing with your save and there's nothing in the house but a message.

3rd fin is deep into the sea like pretty far in. You also get can rocket boots and these other boots. One by using an X potion and the other by solving the puzzle in the desert room

Heart plug is something you can get at the cave entrance. Gotta follow the arrows that sometimes appear at the left or right doorways but it seemed super buggy and not at all consistent. Took a few tries to get to the heart plug.

Get the high-up reward that is in the room without stairs. That should be a big enough hint.

edit: also don't forget about chocolate bars. They're useful in your situation right now.
