Depends on where you live. If you want to attend a concert or a sporting event, you'll either have to drive to a park-n-ride or drive straight to Houston.

Imho, brand new cars are almost never worth the investment. The value of a brand new car can go down thousands of dollars the instant you buy it and drive it off the lot. I'm sure there are plenty of arguments as well for buying a new car (such as almost being guaranteed that it's going to be in good working condition which could lead to lower insurance rates and that sorta thing) so I won't question your decision to buy the $30,000 car but just letting you know there are cheaper alternatives to buying a brand new car :P

Nah, I didn't forget, I'm just really naive, I don't know much about cars. Like I said, I know there are plenty of reasons out there to buy a new car, I just listed a few that I thought were plausible.

regardless, in those situations even if insurance doesn't cover because of lack of proof (you could bring it to authorities though if you were willing to do that) the warranty will cover it.

its nice to see that i'm not the first person to tell you to opt for riding a bike and public transportation but the argument that it depends where you live is valid because some people's commute to work/school/whatever is over 50 miles and in pretty much any case thats a 3-4 hr public transit/bike ride
sentiments about yr uncle but no sympathy over losing a car
