The ones that really rustle my jimmies are the ones where it's like
WHAT IS 48÷2(9+3)? and then you'll get half the crowd going "IT'S 2 LOL PRAISE JESUS" and the other half going "YOU MORONS IT'S 288! PEMDAS MOTHERFUCKER DO YOU SPEAK IT" when really the answer is "AMBIGUOUS STATEMENT FUCK" |

Although these are all dumb I think the dumbest thing, and personally my biggest pet peeve on facebook, is when people hashtag shit.....Like it 100% does NOTHING, except make you look like an idiot.

The analogy I always use is as follows:
What does it mean when someone says "I could care less?" Well, if we take it literally, then clearly that person cares at a level that is greater than the level at which they could be caring. If we take its intended context due to how often it gets abused, it could mean the exact opposite: They're at the lowest level of possible care and therefore could not go any lower. So are we going to argue that it's definition 1 based on literal interpretation (representing the analogy to PEMDAS) or by a possible other interpretation based on unconventional usage (representing the analogy to the odd use of division symbol next to a multiplication-by-juxaposition which is almost never used in conjunction). The answer is anyone's best guess. The central idea is that if you meant it one way, you write it in a way that is consistent and unambiguous based on agreed convention. If you meant it another way, then you write it that way instead. |

![]() Halp. I've been stuck for 5 minutes on a word puzzle and I'm either not perspicacious enough to reflect on my own or I am too lethargic to open my browser and search for an answer online so I will post it on Facebook and wait 5 more minutes on Facebook for something that could have been solved way earlier. |

-Uncle Sam's Misguided Children
-Support our troops or get the f-k out Fuck those pages. Being in the south, I've got a few people on my friends list reposting shit from these pages, and it's some pretty bassackwards shit. On the other hand, there are some pretty cool pages, like "I fucking love science". |

Hash tagging is supposed to be used for Twitter "ONLY" (which by the way, I will just say that twitter has to be one of the dumbest, most pointless sites on the planet!) but back to the hash tag, it supposedly makes your "followers" able to search or see your tweets. (man it makes me pissed off just describing how retarded twitter is)

You can write it as 48/(2(9+3)) if you mean it that way or (48÷2)*(9+3) if you mean it that way or 48 _____ 2(9+3) or however else you want -- all that matters is that it's clear and consistent. |

It is stupid shit
But using reason/history/logic/evidence/consistent frameworks/accurate prediction tends to get you labeled as a "liberal" in some derogatory fashion. w/e 2+2=4 "u libtard" |

![]() An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that.... ![]() Dear Mr. President: During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ringtone. While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as "Medicaid"! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one pack of cigarettes every day, eats only at fast-food take-outs, and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer. And, you and our Congress expect me to pay for this woman's health care? I contend that our nation's "health care crisis" is not the result of a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. Rather, it is the result of a "crisis of culture" a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on luxuries and vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. It is a culture based in the irresponsible credo that "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me". Once you fix this "culture crisis" that rewards irresponsibility and dependency, you'll be amazed at how quickly our nation's health care difficulties will disappear. Respectfully, ROGER STARNER JONES, MD If you agree...pass it on. (I've seen both of these too many times to count) Last edited by Reincarnate; 04-11-2013 at 06:11 PM.. |
