It's not the chart that bugs me this time (gud job doser) it's the song. Holy shit I can't stand it

my engine is (was) dumping goods. Took me 15 plays to get 2-0-0-0 when it's a really easy file.

1. Quark is not a 66, lmfao
2. Even though I have no stamina for it whatsoever, sleep is my favorite this round. Not a huge fan of JS (definately not HS), but it still feels very smooth ![]() |

2-9- Song doesn't really do it for me, and I usually like this kind of music too. Not enough melody and the drums don't really carry logically from one phrase to the next, at least for me. File seems fun, another short dense dosslar file. Nothing in here that FFR doesn't already have like a dozen of already, but still good fun.
Sleep- Everything that is good about Nuclear Blast style files. There are very few patterns I would do differently, impressive flow for such a dense file. Intro is a little annoyingly long but just dense enough to keep your attention. Will play again, many times. Quark- Not sure I really felt some of the 64ths and 32nd bursts but damn if this wasn't a fun file. Probably going to wind up with more than one complaint about the long 32nd rolls in the middle and the one at the end (even though they both looked jumptrillable, I didn't really pause and look at the frames though) Overall a really cool round, good stuff bros

This^^^
Feels fine to me if that is D4's chart... Which I don't think it is considering I never remember most of those patterns. |

Wow, 9-2 seems really easy. Not too much for me, but D6 is going to go Office Space on this chart.
I wouldn't disagree with Quark being a 66... but one thing's for sure, I feel really weird getting a score like this without trying to: ![]() What a WEIRD chart in general lol.

2-9: I'm not playing this file ever again because I will just get frustrated at it and I don't want to ruin the song because I really like this kkrusty song thx dossar. (Mini)trillfest.. nice and awkward
Sleep: This really does feel like a nuclear blast file. It's very boring in which sounds it's stepping (woop dee doo 16th runs at a static non-changing low-key 16th sound in the background), it's repetitive and sometimes the pattern choices remind me of the intro of zaghs st. scarhand (that's not a compliment). The intensity of the song does not match such dense jumpstreams and the hands feel really out of place. Quark: All of those "gaps" in the patterns (12[134]_41[234] for example) make for really awkward patterns. Could've had much better flow. Overall the "difficult" files of this round were all awkward to play and I don't see myself playing these again anytime soon. Good thing I'm not in the tourney ![]()

yeah, from preview, this song is stepped much too densely... I dont like this new trend of overstepping. carol of the bells and flamingo are two more recent songs like that that come to mind. Am i the only person that doesn't hear the word 'sleep' at all in that song?? Ultranumb was sweet!! and my PA for 2-9 was about half SR as was for sleep :P *and still is after a few playthroughs and man, D3 are going to rage this round ![]()

And once again, here are my impressions for Round 4!
DESIRE DRIVE (LLS HARDCORE REMIX) [Standard]: FFR has many hardcore songs in its song list, but I don't recall many of them being UK hardcore. I hope this song is a fair introduction to the genre. It's quite a step up from D1's previous round, so watch out for the trills! I have a [Heavy] version of this song already stepped and waiting for a future batch. ULTRAnumb: This song isn't the sort of stuff I listen to, but I know people will like Blue Stahli. A moderately lengthy song, this actually isn't too bad to play. I wouldn't even say it's much more difficult compared to D1's song. The only tricky part is a 43434 one-handed trill in the middle of the file. Entry: This file played pretty smoothly, and certainly looked harder on the preview than it actually is to play. I found the selective nature of choosing 12th jacks to 16th jumpstreams a bit arbitrary though. I would've stuck with one or the other, rather than having 12ths switch to 16ths halfway through. The [13]2[13]2 section at the very end of the song could trip some people up if they aren't watching closely. Good file. Quark: Song sounds like KAMAITACHI, and plays like a dick too lol. It isn't streamy as I had hoped, but this is Razor's style, and I very much respect that. On the other hand, the 32nds make up for that and certainly gives a lot of replayability to the file, although many of the bursts are awkward and unconventional. You can probably get a good score if you try hard enough, but AAAing this one is another matter. Energetic file. Sleep: Congratulations on your first file in the game, alloyus! A lot of people already seem very pleased at this file, as it is jumpstream-heavy which Stepmania players tend to love. Unfortunately, I don't share this opinion and find it bland (partially due to song length) and hard for the sake of being hard. For you players out there, watch out for split goods on dense streams too. FFR doesn't give the same sort of leeway as SM's chord cohesion does. 2-9: This song sounds like Level Skip, but plays more like Hero Reconsidering or Breakbeat Acid, albeit on a slightly easier level. It's getting hard for me to differentiate kkrusty's music now. You'll really need quick fingers to get through this song. The file itself is slightly easier from what I remember it. The intro used to be quite a bit harder. However, this chart still can't be underestimated. The 16th jumps scattered in the jumpstream can easily trip you up. |
