Idiot.

Graphics aern't everything.

The DS is about 80 times more innovative than the PSP.

PSP:"Hey I have good graphics and online capability...PLAY ME"

DS:"Hey I have online capability, innovative games, two screens, a chat program, a fucign stylus, and a bunch of developers ungry to develop for me"
Did I say graphics are everything? No. I was just stating a fact, the PSP will have better graphics (DS will have "N64-like graphics." It has a sleeker design. Sony's Playstation dethroned the Nintendo computer console leaving Nintendo's only strong point in Portable devices. Nintendo has not had any competition since Game Gear (since N-Gage is a joke).

Now, is there any idea of what games will, without a doubt, come out for DS? Not very many. Same goes for PSP. So, in terms of specs, the PSP is the superior system.

Since N64, I lost all faith in Nintendo. Nintendo is fun, I guess, if you like games like "Super Mario Babysit Party" or "Soft, Plushy, Colourful Luigi's Picking Apples Adventure."

Do you smell something? Oh yeah. It's the smell of someone just getting PWNED. PSP will kick the DS's ass. If the DS does well, its because parents think it will keep thier little kids entertained for an afternoon during the holidays.

Specs aren't everything. It's mostly in the games. Speaking of specs and capabilities, Gamecube can handle more polygons and more pixels per second than PS2. But XBox wins that competition; it has the best specs for a next-gen console.

And jewpin, I won't expect anything big to DS as it's just using cartridges, graphics-wise. CDs can store more space, especially UMDs.

Nintendo consoles are all about multiplayer fun like SSBM and Mario. I'm not a big fan of those (I play RPGs mostly), but I am sure the Nintendo DS won't miss any of the good RPGs that were in the GBA (Golden Sun, especially).

Nintendo has learned their lesson. They will target more mature players this time.

Let's see what I own..
Big ol' fat gameboy
Gameboy pocket
Gameboy color
Gameboy Advance

I had the big gameboy but the gameboy pocket came out. It was smaller with a better screen. Eventually, for a birthday, I got it. A month later came the gameboy color. All of a sudden I couldn't play gameboy color games. But I just bought this gameboy pocket, what the fuznidge. So for another birthday I get the gameboy color, finally. Oh but wait, a month later Gameboy Advance comes out. I can't play gameboy advance games. So around one Christmas I took out some money for myself and bought it. A mont later the Gameboy Advance SP comes out. I get pissed off. I'm still mad.. So what would I go with if I was going to buy any of these? PSP.. But I'll probably just not buy any and go the road of emulation.

Last time I checked, the PSP has a touch-sensitive start button.

Think about that for a moment. Anything can go wrong with a paused game.

Also, the Disc system for a portable? Please! What happens when some one turns the thing upside down?

...And Sony tends to be on the downside of mechanical quality in its machines...

Movies? You know how small the screens are going to be? You better get some glasses... or a magnifying glass...

Songs? Phffffft! Would you rather get one of those puny small CD's that can only be used for the PSP than get a real CD that could be used in a computer, a DVD player, a radio, and in a walkman?

Overall, I do not want to spend $300 on something that has a 50/50 chance of breaking in the first week. I think Sony is trying too hard at being innovative nowadays.

That's been the problem in PS2 as well. All of my friends bought PS2 when it came out (2001). More than half of their PS2s showed the screen "Disc Read Error" after a year of their purchase, never to function normally again.

On top of that, Sony consumer support SUCKS. (Okay, I'm getting offensive)

The PSP looks sleak though :/

Edit: For God's sake don't save it in your computer, a waste of space really.

A game's theme or appearance does not affect it's quality or fun quotient, if you're not too close minded to not play anything that doesn't involve murdering something. Also, what kind of a company would Nintendo be if it deliberately ignored such a huge fan base (i.e, little kids)

Say whatever you want. Super Mario 64 is the greatest 3D game of all time, hands down. The Getaway? Time Crisis? Those are fun, but they don't have any real lasting appeal. Nintendo...well, Nintendo always manages to pull out the killer games for their top licences. Just look at the consistent quality in the Mario and Metroid series and you'll see what I mean.

*thumbs up*

For more DS>>>>>> PSP

Ok so jewpin, I got a question for you:

[quote"jewthethird"]:Pokemon show: Meh. Pokemon Gameboy Games: BEST EVER.[/quote]

Why would you buy the PSP again? Although you have mentioned it, Pokemon games will never be in a Sony console. I just hope the Pokemon series won't have the reputation of being too much of a kiddy game; I find them to be really good games too.

Edit: Too lazy to correct the quote

No a games appearance does not affect it's quality or fun quotient. Tetris is one of my favorite games. That doesnt involve murdering...unless you count destroying blocks "murdering." However, there are some games that wont be as great if it werent for their graphics; Ico, my all time favorite game, was so great because of the stunning scenery, atmosphere, and over all them. There was no "murdering", though there were occasional fights, it for the most part was a puzzle game. Rygar, too, wouldnt have had as great an effect on me as a player, had it had poor graphics (though the voice acting was like twisting a knife in my ear). I have never play "the Getaway" and I only play Time Crisis when I go to the Arcade (which I rarely do).

Super Mario 64 was an awesome game. So was Golden Eye and Mario Kart, the Zelda games and Smash Brothers, but what other games are there? Also, Playstation has some rather good RPGs too...like, almost everything made by Squaresoft....

I have never had a problem with a sony product. My Playstation 2 works just as good as the day I bought it.

Probably the same thing that happens when you turn a protiable CD player upside now...nothing.

W00t Ok a Dual Screen. One is a touch screen and the other is a regular screen. And where's the originality in that? I really don't see any. Basically the DS is only going to do well because of two screens. I would't be suprised if kids start having seisures and the DS gets banned because all the flashing lights and colors from the DS cause problems. And Super Mario 64 the greatest 3D game of all time? Pffhhhttt. Nintendo has seriously brainwashed you all. It looks like Jewpin is my new tag-team partner against the DS.

Mischeif Makers, made by Treasure. Every game made by Treasure rocks, and this one is no exception.

Jet Force Gemini, made by Rare. One of the best Third-Person Shooters I have ever played, and that says alot.

Bomberman Hero, made by Nintendo. Okay, maybe this game isn't all that great, in fact it sucks, but it did have one of the coolest-looking villains. Wanna know where the "nitros" part of my name comes from?

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, made by LucasArts. Not only was it an awesome Platform game, but also had a few "flying in ship" levels that, back in the time, were better than Rogue Squadron since you didn't have to escort pieces of crap. And it has an awesome Landspeeder level too.

To be honest I hadn't heard of PSP or DS until I read this post. I did some quick researching, not enough to make a decision. Although I am a big Nintendo fan, the DS doesn't seem like it will be a very...comfortable device. To play it drawing with the stylus, you would have to be sitting with that thing on a table flat and not moving to be very accurate with it. Using the stylus in a car would be near impossible and using while laying down in your bed seems like too much of a task to use it correctly. The PSP seems much more practical as a portable device in this aspect, but I don't plan on buying either one of them, my next big purchase is going to be a CAR. Something that carries me, not vice versa.
