My final say in this thread because I'd rather not garbage up a perfectly good thread with a pointless argument.

You actually are pointing out and exactly saying that my critique is wrong. What you should be doing if you actually cared enough to make a point on the matter is reviewing the file yourself, and not trying to discredit someone else.

Solicit advice when necessary? That would kind of be the whole point of the thread, or did you suddenly forget what the word 'review' means?

Nah. I couldn't care less about the files ACTUALLY getting fixed up. I'm an editor. Critiquing shit is my job =p. If I reviewed this subjectively, I'd auto reject both files for being renard.

Which reminds me. Why is Lune Noir still in the game? I asked for that file to be taken out months ago. kthx

Destination of the Heart:

- nice job PRing the intro - this or 1343 works to capture the C/G/C (+1)/G/C pitches of the melody (also, this note right here is proof that PR is subjective/relative - Kory says that it sticks out, but I say it's correct; he'd probably say something like 1232 or 2343, which also works because it still captures the interval properly)
- 29.615 to 31.165: The strings here are fairly gentle and quiet, so the jumps/triples here stick out quite a bit. The quad is fine, though.
- 33.815 to 60.065: To give this section a bit more of a punch, you could add triples to cymbal crashes. Not required by any means, but it can help seperate the crashes from the rest of the song because of layering.
- 35.915: nice intentional ommision of layering to account for the 16ths, it plays out smoothly this way
- 43.415 to 47.015: your layering for this section disappears - any reason why? Being that you only omit jumps when the melody is playing 16th notes, there's not too much of a reason to omit them here too. Take into account that the difficulty suddenly drops for a bit because of this, when it doesn't really need to be.
- 53.015 to 57.515: ^, although not quite as big of a deal because 16ths start appearing again
- 71.540: since the jumps are following strings, this jump and the one at 71.990 are incorrectly placed - they land on 4ths here, too.

This file isn't bad by any means - in fact, it was surprising to see someone claiming to be a new stepartist and seeing some halfway decent pitch relevancy. It flows relatively well too.

Stamp on the Ground- File is fun but more on the repetitive side due to the song but that is not your fault. As long as the file is fun, you're good bro.

Oh, and throwing it out there, getting even a ? from me is an achievement. I usually +? files from well established artists, unless they happen to be pieces of gold.

I did go through and add hands to the cymbal hits, it makes a lot more sense, I did it after Kory's first post. Works well.

mother****er please, I didn't even know about Ice Age until after the 3rd movie came out, lol

but yeah, I didn't want to come across as know-it-all; I wanted to make it really clear that there is no universally correct way to step a file once all objective things are taken care of (proper offset/BPM/rhythms, and done within reason).

EDIT: btw, if the file were in the FFR batch, I'd probably give it a [+.] for the area that suddenly loses layering, the unnecessary triples/jumps for the strings, and the misplaced jumps in the final melody - all of which take up less than 5 seconds of the file, and aren't incredibly glaring

destination of the heart - i actually agree with kory about the pitch relevancy in the beginning, but everywhere else it seems fine. for that main JS part:

avoid this and your JS patterns will be much nicer to hit

overall not too bad of a file, just watch out for patterns like continuous 8th jacks embedded in jumpsmash and that 12321 shit during jumpstream
